Dear John.
I stayed at some of your competition
recently, you know, those 'gay friendly hotels' that claim to be
gay but are not, and as you had a workshop on and were full, I
thought I'd give them a try and while there was nothing to
complain about, it was very obvious to me that you really
are the best. Best for facilities. Best for service. Best
for friendliness and MOST CERTAINLY, comparatively speaking,
definitely best for price. And to top it all, these 'gay owned
and run' places are not gay. I had 2 families with small
children at one place I stayed and a hen party of squawking and
screaming women at another and it was really not what I
was led to believe or expect.
No mistaking it John, it is Hamilton Hall
for me every time from now on.

arrival times
We have no manned reception desk -
as we are a small venue. If you are going to arrive outside of these
times - it is no problem as long as we have been advised in advance
of a vague arrival time, then we shall be here with the kettle on.
These times are also flexible. I
walk my dog between 1pm - 3pm and sometimes take an afternoon walk
by the ocean. Please be considerate of our times when planning your
arrival.

Why not pre order your dinner
before you arrive as this saves hunting for a
restaurant after a long trip, just eat 'in house'
with us here. Dinners are served between 7 and 8pm

Late
check out is easy to arrange - just ask the day before.
You can check out and store your
bags here - enjoy the beach for the rest of the day or just hang
around relaxing waiting for your late train etc, and then shower and
have some hot and cold refreshments ready for your journey home. You
are welcome to take a carton of juice with you for the journey or some
chilled bottled water. You see how considerate we are ?

WEATHER FORECAST
 The
weather forecast is usually often WRONG for the south coast and the
Bournemouth Tourist Board has complained for the last 2 years that
too many 'cloudy, wet and overcast' weekend forecasts have stopped
tourists coming to the town and the weather has been absolutely
glorious sunshine. Too many weekends the forecasts have been
completely incorrect and many small businesses like Hamilton Hall
suffer because the tourists stay at home. DO NOT TRUST THE
FORECASTS - Bournemouth has a micro climate that seems to defy the
weather people and even the local news gets it wrong 70% of the
time.

We do not service the
rooms after you arrive and do not change the bedding or towels daily.
If you are staying for more than 7 days, we then change your beddi ng
although fresh towels are available throughout. . Most of our laundry is washed on
40° and
we do not tumble dry our laundry - our boiler room is also our drying
room. Our towels might not be as fluffy and soft - - - and if you
don't like it, - - - then tough.
We ask you to please switch lights off in your
rooms when you leave and do not waste power.
If making
tea and coffee, heat enough water for the amount of cups required and
do not boil a full kettle for one cup. Close the fridge door and
do not leave it open while you make your tea.
Close outer doors and
windows in the winter and do not waste our heating. We may be a
'clothes optional venue' but if you are chilled, then put a
sweater on.
These things help us with
our excessive bills and the huge increases in electricity and gas - it
helps cut down our Carbon Footprint and this helps Mother Earth.
If you are irresponsible in your manner and show a 'don't care
attitude' towards the environment, then you may be spoken to and
brought into awareness of your ignorant manner and if you offer an
uncaring attitude, you may be asked to leave.
Mother Earth is suffering because of humanity
- YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE. We must all do out bit to help, and THAT
MEANS YOU. If
you can help bring us into awareness of something we can do to help
further, please speak to John
I know this sounds bossy and disrespectful,
but it seems many are STILL uncaring about global warming and we
cannot afford financially or morally to blindly ignore those who seem
to deliberately ignore what is going on globally and with a £2,400 gas
bill recently, we HAVE to watch what we do.

BUSINESS LESSON
Johnny wanted to have sex with a
girl in his office, but she belonged
to someone else...
One day, Johnny got so frustrated
that he went up to her and said,
"I'll give you a $100 if you let me
have sex with you. But the
girl said NO.
Johnny said, "I'll be fast. I'll
throw the money on
the floor, you bend down, and I'll
be finished by the time you pick it
up. "
She thought for a moment and said
that she would have to consult her
boyfriend... So she called her
boyfriend and told him the story.
Her boyfriend says, "Ask him for
$200, pick up the money very fast,
he won't even be able to get his
pants down."
So she agrees and accepts the
proposal. Half an hour goes by, and
the boyfriend is waiting for his
girlfriend to call.
Finally, after 45 minutes, the
boyfriend calls and
asks what happened.
She responded, "The b*****d used
coins !"
Management lesson:
Always consider a business proposal
in its entirety before agreeing to
it and getting screwed!

your approx. arrival time. We serve dinner at 7pm prompt and the
kitchen closes at 7.30pm. Dinner can be held for you but only if
advised and no later than 7.30pm. We have a great deal of
work to do for these workshop weekends and your appreciation of this,
and a prompt arrival, is appreciated.

minimum of 2 weeks to clear the funds and the full amount paid in
advance for
any stay here, plus we add £10 to the cost to cover our excessive
banking charges and because we have to go to the bank - especially -
to bank it. Please include all your
personal details with a cheque - name - address - date of event / B&B
period - phone number (land line included ). We do not allow
anonymous people into the building to stay who do not share some of
their personal details with us. This is for your protection from the
media or those who would spy on us. This is for everyone's safety.
We respect your need also for
privacy and we do not sell or give away any of your details to anyone.

Prices are correct as
of 14/08/08. All special offers are discretionary. Give me 'attitude'
and you'll pay the full price.

We believe so strongly in
our venue that if you can find another gay men's hotel that
has bedrooms as spacious and luxurious as ours, with
better indoor space to chill and relax in, and offers
a better value for money and is comparatively priced to us,
including all the little extras we provide so freely, here
in the UK, within
60 days of staying with us, then
we will refund your stay at Hamilton Hall TWICE OVER as we are
THAT confident in our venue with its unique and friendly
atmosphere, that we are confident enough to make this offer.
Offering a metaphysical, alternative, spiritual,
holistic, complimentary and open minded approach to life, love and
the universe, you are welcome to bring whatever helps you to relax and
chill out - your worry beads, your herbal remedies, your knitting, bunny
slippers or even just a good book. We offer an open and honest heart
and welcome you. Hamilton Hall is a NOT FOR PROFIT venue and
John Bellamy, your host, does not take a wage while working between 12 and
18 hours a day.

For
those people who think we
should charge less in the winter months, you have a choice;- You can
either have the heating on - or off - the choice is yours. Some
may c onsider the winter to be the 'off season' and that we should be
grateful of any business we can get - ( they obviously have not checked
out our Diary of Events for the winter and seen that this is actually
our busiest time of the year ) and the winter is the most expensive time
of the year to heat the building and accept guests, so our prices remain
the same all year long for B&B. This is Bournemouth, with some of the
most expensive properties in the world. If all you want is cheap, then
go elsewhere.

collection we ask a donation of £5 - saving you a further £10 if you take a
cab or an hour on the bus. *
Available once in every 7 day period*
Our collection and delivery to and from the station and the naturist beach
is depending on time and staff being available. This is not an insured
taxi service just a nice gesture. If it is inconvenient for us, please
take a taxi or bus. We do what we can and at times, we simply have too
much to do.

As hard as I try and after hundreds of
hours working constantly on this web site to make it better and easier
and so forth, I find mistakes, and it is called 'being human.'
We all make them and no one is more irritated than I am at the mistakes
I make. I sooooo want things to be correct and perfect, but as we
live in an imperfect world, I have grown to accept that at times, things
will go wrong. So - If you find we have made a mistake with your
reservation or anything else, please inform us politely and we shall
rectify where we can.
If you phone and I am a little short,
apologies, maybe it has been a long and tiring day and as I work between
12 and 18 hours a day - 7 days a week, I do get tired and
sometimes, like everyone else, a little irritable. With hundreds
of e mails every day, and scores of phone calls and more than enough
tossers messing me around, running any small business these
days is extremely hard. The government does all it can to penalize us
with red tape, crippling hidden costs and many aspects you cannot even
imagine.
