Born in London but raised in Bournemouth from around 3 years of age to 16 - I then left and spent 8 years living  in the Channel Islands ( Guernsey ) and then in my 20's I moved to America ( all over ) with extended periods in Mexico and various Hawaiin Islands and when I was 30 I returned to London - Hammersmith - for  15 years, which I loved.   When I started thinking of leaving London,  I decided to return to Bournemouth and open my hotel,  and I am so glad I did.

Here I am on Hengisbury Head on a warm autumn afternoon walking my dog ( yes - she is there somewhere - probably chasing a rabbit and getting nowhere )  and there are many beautiful walks to take her and I am still finding new places of beauty all the time.

This delightful town was voted the happiest place to live in England and I love it here.

Come and find out why.
De stress and unwind - Relax and chill out.

Bournemouth is the 'GARDEN TOWN BY THE SEA' and is a gardeners paradise.  With scores of stunning walks along the cliff tops, beside rivers and numerous chines and countryside all around,  the greenery and tropical plants  are a true delight.  The Victorian era saw a huge interest in so many plants being brought in from China, Japan and the Far east and many were planted here as our weather is ilder and the sunshine brighter,  and after all these years,  it has made Bournemouth a very green and beautiful garden town.

Known as 'THE NEW BRIGHTON',    Bournemouth is one of the success stories. After the 1960 when many small tourist towns died a death - Bournemouth survived and is currently seeing huge investment by numerous large hotel and restaurant chains.  The Premier Inn has built several new hotels here recently and many hotels from the top of the range have also bought into the town,  and this kind of investment is good for the future of the area.

The town has always attracted students to learn English language here and there are many good language schools with people coming from all over the world to learn - and with the introduction of Bournemouth University around 30 years ago - which has gone on to become highly praised and respected,  tens of thousands of young people from around the world come to study here,  debunking the adage that Bournemouth was just a retirement home for the elderly.  It is full of young blood and is a modern and thriving town.

There are a lot of retired people here, of course there are, and many fine apartment blocks that cater solely for the elderly - and the town makes an excellent area - as with milder winters ( usually ) and good summers,  it is an ideal location for the elderly.

With numerous yacht clubs and marinas, our own international airport and an excellent train and motorway link to London - Bournemouth is easy to get to and does not take an age.  London to Bournemouth by car is under 2 hours - by train is around the same and coach is a little longer.  With a motorway the entire journey from London and easy dual carriageways - it is an easy drive through the New Forest, where you can see ponies and deer, cows and the local wildlife, and I don't mean the locals... ha ha

With numerous world class golf courses,  night clubs, shops and hotels, there is something for everyone in Bournemouth.

Maintained to the highest international standards for beach cleanliness and environmental management, Bournemouth beaches are  some of the best in the world…or so the tourist blurb on the town says - although I am not sure I would personally go that far - having spent time on Hawaiian Islands and in Mexico - but I must admit our beaches are very clean and safe - so get your bucket and spades ready !
