Here are 7 elder communities that are like living in the gayborhood

COMMUNITY LIVING AROUND THE WORLD

IS THE NEXT BIG THING FOR ELDERLY LGBT.

I have been asking through this Blog if anyone anywhere knows of other Community Living spaces round the world - as there seems to be very few restricted for just gay / bi men - or more open to LGBTQ. Many residential living sopaces can be outright hostile towards LGBTQ - and in retirement you want to feel safe in your own home.

I recently came across this venue in Florida... ( below )

HAMILTON HALL IS NOT CONNECTED TO ANY OF THESE VENUES AT ALL.

This is just a free promotion by us to share the joys available.

The Residences at Equality Park will be affordable housing for senior adults, with a special focus on LGBTQ+ individuals. We remain passionate and excited about meeting this real community need. The Residences at Equality Park will represent Florida’s first affordable housing community with customized supportive services for LGBTQ+ seniors. We already provide a safety-net of services on this campus for local Seniors.

The Residences, coupled with The Center’s growing seniors programming– one of the largest LGBTQ+ seniors program nationwide–will give residents a permanent, safe place to live and support services they need to age in place. The Residences joins a growing national trend in which senior affordable housing communities are being built in conjunction with LGBTQ+ community centers in major cities across the country, including Los Angeles, San Diego, Chicago and Philadelphia.

The application process will open up on June 15th, 2020 and will remain open until June 26th, 2020. Applications and additional information will be available beginning on June 15th at Carrfour.org

Nothing in life is free.

When I started advertising Hamilton Hall as a Community Living space, one man visciously attacked the idea and oublicly announced that for the £1.200 per month - which includes a delightful private room - and not like in some council run care home at all - and with all meals, utilities, vehicle for day trips and everything included, he thought the money warranted him being given a part of the ownership of the venue, part of the freehold - as part of his rent.

I despair. I truly despair.

When he pays his rent to his landlord does the landlord give him part ownership in the propeerty.

Of cource not.

It is idiots who push the boundaries in this fashion that completely put investors off doing such a thing when this is what is received in return. Ignoring is the best thing, as some simply make themselves unsuitable and undeserving.
