John Bellamy Comments: Pride has lost touch with the political motivation that was aimed at getting rights for the LGBT community. Britain may be 'up there' when it comes to rights for LGBT, but there are scores of countries that still have draconian laws in place and some., like the USA, Russia, Poland and Hungary, are drawing back laws previously made and making LGBT FREE ZONES and going in reverse of rules laid down by the EU for entry, and Poland and Hungary should be thrown out of the EU (although that won't happen ) and / or be financially fined hugely until they adhere to guidelines signed in place to protect all, including LGBT.
Our PRIDE DAYS need to reflect that the fight is still on and MILLIONS of LGBTQ around the world look at web sites like this one for Hamilton Hall with absolute wonder - wonder that such a venue exists, legally, men only, naked, sexual workshop trainings - life and death workshops - and all exclusively men only, and protected in law - and then I look at the LGBT community here in the UK and how - sadly - so many abuse and take for granted and do not give a shit for those in other countries still struggling and other than people like Peter Tatchell who has done decades of gay campaigning to become HATED by many within the gay world while fighting FOR THE RIGHTS YOU ACCEPT AND TAKE FOR GRANTED AND HATE AND VILLIFY THE MAN WHO GO THOSE RIGHTS FOR YOU and this just shows how the gay community, such as it is, is in need of finding a way forward and not just as a party and fuck fest - but to help those less fortunate.
I KNOW THERE IS A CAMPAIGN TO GET PRIDE BACK ON TRACK FROM A PISSY DAY OUT WITH TOO MUCH BOOZE AND ANY EXCUSE TO CRUISE FOR TRADE, BACK TO A POLITICAL STATEMENT ABOUT HOW IGNORANT AND UNEDUCATED THE WORLD IS AND HOW WE ARE HERE TO MAKE CHANGE AND NOT JUST FUCKING PARTY.
