Dear John: CONCERNING BEING NAKED IN THE SUMMER MOMNTHS.

My late boyfriend and I had a hot tub on our outside deck. The side facing the neighbors was privacy screened about 8 feet high. We liked to go all natural since no one could see us.

One time, the cat came to the gate and I let him in. We finished and went in the house. About an hour later, a policeman comes to the door. This was summer time and I was wearing shorts and a tank top. I was a lot younger and in decent shape back then.

I noticed he looked me up and down and asked him what was wrong. He told me that someone had made a complaint that they saw me naked.

I blurted out: Tell them not to look.

He laughed, and I showed him the view from where they could have possibly seen me. He had to agree that they really had to be looking pretty darn hard to see anything.

The other side of my house would never have seen me for the way the house was situated. I knew it surely wasn’t either of my 2 neighbors on that side because one was half blind and the other wasn't home at the time.

The third neighbor was old and never went out. So it had to be 4 houses down. We had a garden that was 100 feet by 300 feet lengths. So it had to be a goodly distance. This woman had young kids and was known to be a bit of a complainer.

The officer didn’t care at all Just chalked it up to a busybody. Most of the neighbors were pretty tight knit at that time. After we told the neighbors about the incident, we just tended to stay away from her.

It is not illegal to be naked in your own back garden as long as you have taken all precautions not to be seen and you are not doing anything sexual.
