Where I’ve Been (Hint: British Intelligence May Have Been Involved)

I’m back ! It’s a long story, some of it covered in my most recent interview for VT Radio It included a wild ride in the middle of the night across spectacular Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands in an emergency ambulance, with blue lights flashing, to a general hospital with a cardiologist on call, after my partner, who is even older than I am, started to enter cardiac arrest.

The cardiac complications in turn were triggered by a very nasty bacterial infection, so nasty in fact that the paramedics initially diagnosed pneumonia.

Since the infection was picked up on the flight down and I had also gone down with a chest infection, meaning a slightly less active holiday than originally planned, there was the inevitable intelligence inquiry into whether or not we had been dosed with precursors and the aircraft systems contaminated.

Tricky to do, but not impossible. (The big problem on a crowded flight is giving the game away by hitting other passengers who might be susceptible to infection.) It turned out that it was just the air-con and pressurisation system circulating a bug picked up by another passenger, it would seem innocently. I am actually quite safe to be around, since the Bad Guys know that were I or someone I love to be taken out British Intelligence would retaliate, massively.

The German Chancellor and GO2 Director therefore live to see another day.
