Atorvastatin 'call 111' warning as NHS cautions on 'serious' side effects
Fiona Callingham

The NHS provides guidance to patients taking a widely used medication on the risk of "serious" side effects. Those currently prescribed atorvastatin are urged to be careful about which other medicines they take alongside it.
Atorvastatin is a type of statin, which helps to lower cholesterol levels in the blood. It is commonly prescribed to patients with high blood cholesterol to reduce the risk of heart disease, including heart attacks and strokes.
Your GP may also suggest atorvastatin if you have a family history of heart disease, or a long-term health condition such as type 1 or type 2 diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis.
John Bellamy Comments:

Before I get into it : Let me just state this: The doctor put me on a medication that eNded up being VERY VERY BAD FOR ME and it seems is very very bad for most people, yet the NHS prescribes and promotes Statins like it's the next best thing since sliced bread.
NOW: THEY RANT AND RAVE ABOUT SMOKING CANNABIS AND THE LAWS AND THE OPINIONS AND THE RABID NONESENCE SCREAMED - YET CANNABIS IS VERY GOOD FOR BODY ACHES AND PAINS, MENTRUL CRAMPS, ARTHRITIS PAINS AND ALL SORTS, so they WANT you to take a medication that causes and creates tons of other problems, but a drug that does nothing but heal, is banned.
MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL. and as I found out at Hamilton Hall, some people will argue until they are blue in the face that they are right and the sad thing is, not only are they wrong, they know fuck all and are arguing against facts with - bollocks - crap - make believe that helps them feel safe and secure in their own little world but not when it comes to speaking the actual TRUTH and not aload of bollocks.
I suppose this is another way of speaking about MAGA.
My doctor tried putting me on Statins some 4 years ago and I immediately asked why she was pushing drugs instead of offering a dietician to help bring my cholesterold down naturally through diet - and THAT was not going to happen as that COSTS THE NHS and actually offers an ALTERNATIVE TO DRUGS, but the NHS is all about drugs and getting you out the door as fast as possible, even if their treatment is not always right for you.
Eventually when my cholesterole was HIGH, I accepted the statins and after just a few weeks my cholesterole level was down from HIGH to AVERAGE - and as delighted as I was, I was becoming concerned with other aspects of my health - Runny nose all day - VERY ache joints and my left hip which has been bad for some years -became REALLY painful and I even ended up at the specialist asking if I needed a new hip as it was so painful going up stairs and even climbing into bed. BUT - I stopped taking the statins and within days, ALL MY SORE JOINTS were HUGELY BETTER - and I mean, my hip - while it is still sore and aches, is NOTHING LIKE AS BAD AS IT WAS WHEN TAKING THE STATINS and I can now walk upstairs without that pain and even get into bed - no problem at all, and NOT ONE DOCTOR WARNED ME OF THE SIDE AFFECTS EVEN

THOUGH THEY ARE COMMONLY KNOWN AND SHOULD - MUST - BE TOLD TO THE PATIENT and not just leave it up to us to find out for ourselves. Doctors are prescribing a dangerous drug with no warnings and putting the onus on the patient..,.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH. We all remember the Thalidomide drug, given to pregnant women to ease morning sickness and we all know where that ended up.
There is too much negative reports on the various statins and more so on ATORVASTATIN yet it continues to be prescribed KNOWING of its serious side effects.
' Not my responsibility.' attitude from the doctors does not instill confidence and trust.
I have not taken Statins now for more than 3 months and my hip is vastly improved. All my achy joints have VASTLY improved.
BE WARNED. PAY ATTENTION, ASK A MILLION QUESTIONS AND DO NOT BLINDLY FOLLOW WHAT YOUR DOCTOR SAYS AS IT IS GENERALLY PAID FOR BY THE PHARMACUTICAL COMPANIES PREMOTING THEIR DRUGS.
You make, and take, from the news that which you wish to see and hear. You observe what you want and comment of things that affect you personally. If you don't like something, do not read it and move on but do not shy away from what IS going on in the world of which - you are a part. World news is so easy to find these days and differing opinions not hard to find. Having an opinion is vital and being a ' don't care' person helps no one. So open your mind - open your heart - open your awareness and ALWAYS be open to new ideas.
