Australias reply to Trumps rant

By David Abbruzzes:

This Australian's reply to Trump's rant about “NATO not being there for America” is perfect.

"Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of

abortion laws to treat a miscarriage.

You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail.

Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates.

Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you.

And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban thanked you very much for losing again.

And you're calling Greenland poorly run?

Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no.

'NATO wasn't there when we needed them."

When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years.

And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess.

So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. The only thing poorly run in this picture is your f----- mouth."

Brilliantly written piece.

Trump arrived 45 minutes to the G7 Summit. He did not apologize for his tardiness. Instead, Trump made a “joke” about being the “boss.” This joke did not go well with the other world leaders. It was rude that he was late and the other world leaders don’t like Trump. The other leaders consider Trump an inconsiderate dope. Trump has made a lot of insults in the past about many of the people in the G7.

Trump came across as disrespectful and unprofessional. Trump has forgotten the true allies of America. Trump recently showed off his fancy plane from Qatar. Accepting gifts like this from makes Trump look greedy and questionable.

Trump looks very bad on the world stage.

BYE BYE AMERICA

I do wonder if the people of the world realise they are living through THE END TIMES FOR THE USA. We are witnessing the death knell of the Unied States as Trump and his minions destroy anything and everything that was decent and this destruction is irreversible - never to be repaired and the USA will completely loose its arrogance, it condescending manner - its swagger and its bully boy attitude that we are all here to serve them and they rule the world. Well the end is nigh America, and YOU voted for this complete destruction of a once great county. So, pat yourselves on the back and say Bye Bye to the good times, 'cos they is over Hun' as the United States slides into the crapper with trumps hand on the flush and you just know it will leave a nasty skid mark as Trump will never go quitly.

What technology has been introduced into the UK by the USA?

The question set me thinking. I am going to jot down anything that comes to mind while I make tea.

chewing gum

doughnuts

air conditioning in cars

denim jeans

coca-cola

hamburgers

quick-frozen peas

the domestic dishwasher (not sure about that - i first saw one in New York in 1965)

The synchromesh gearbox

Velcro

As I compiled this list I was led to start a list of all the technologies that Britain introduced to the USA. It was going to be a long list…

programmable electronic computer (Colossus, Tommy Flowers)

the cavity magnetron (microwave ovens, radar)

polyethylene

polyethylene terephthalate (PET, polyester cloth)

Penicillin

railways and standards

steam engines, steam locomotives, railway trains

jet engines and gas turbines

splitting the atom (Ernest Rutherford, NZ)

atomic power and weapons (MAUD and Tube Alloys)

The telephone

the World-Wide-Web

the AC power grid and high-voltage transmission

radio transmitters and receivers

neg-pos silver-salt photography (Fox Talbot)

traffic lights

rubber tyres (John Lloyd Dunlop 1888)

Tarmac road surfacing

railways in tunnels

dewatering of deep coal mines

the filament light bulb (no, not Thamas Edison, who lost his patent claims to Joseph Swan in courts in both London and NYC)

ribbon microphones

float glass (look it up!)

sub-miniature vacuum tubes (VT fuze)

And how about the cmputer and first web site and so much more. Greenwich mean Time.

US children are taught at school that the US invented everything. But the US has been very good at developing existing technologies and marketing them to a much larger, wealthier market than the UK. The US is just catching-up with Japanese and European retail banking, for instance. And US road design is 15…20 years behind UK, with four times as many car-accident fatalities per capita.

UK here and what's to stop Europe reciprocating that arrangement ? The United States of America has threatened and insulted every other country in the world apart from two.

Never have I seen a country become as unpopular as Billy no friends US of a .so quickly .

We can still buy what we want from the rest of the world.

We aren't the people who have pissed off the rest of the planet apart from Israel , Belarus and Russia. Good luck being almost alone in the world. The rest of us won't miss you.

“What a LOSER!”

President Biden delivered a blistering speech at a gala for Maryland Democrats, taking direct aim at Donald Trump.

WOW. Few people expected such a forceful address.

During his remarks, Biden sharply criticized his successor, arguing that Trump's actions have weakened America's alliances, damaged its reputation abroad, and reflected poor leadership.

“Look, it's not just his deliberate distortion and destruction of NATO and his choosing Putin over American allies, or the fact that he's diminished our standing in the eyes of the world more than any president in history has.”

“It's not just his vanity projects, tearing down the east wing of the White House, making room for his ballroom, putting his name on the Kennedy Center, building an arch in his own honor, even hiring his own pool guy to fix the reflecting pool. Whoa, what a loser!”

“Look, folks, it's not just that. The reflecting pool reflects something even worse than the narcissism and incompetence at the core of this administration.”

“It's the corruption, the brazen, blatant corruption, corruption on a scale never seen before in American history in any administration. Trump has made billions of dollars in his return to the White House; it's simply stunning to me. He has no shame. And frankly, it's embarrassing for the country. But Trump, Trump could care less.”

Biden also urged Democrats to stay engaged and continue pushing back.

“It’s time to get up, dammit. Get up. Get up, now,” he told the audience.

The speech argued that Trump's presidency has had serious consequences for both the United States and the broader international community. It criticized his policy decisions, accused his administration of undermining long-standing alliances, and described his leadership as deeply corrupt and harmful.

For many supporters, Biden's remarks served as a reminder of the tone and style of leadership they believe the country once had, while also expressing hope for the future.

You make, and take, from the news that which you wish to see and hear. You observe what you want and comment of things that affect you personally. If you don't like something, do not read it and move on but do not shy away from what IS going on in the world of which - you are a part. World news is so easy to find these days and differing opinions not hard to find. Having an opinion is vital and being a ' don't care' person helps no one. So open your mind - open your heart - open your awareness and ALWAYS be open to new ideas.
