Autumn Update from The Gay Farm

New Zealand

Easter House Party 2026

Greetings from the Farm where the turning of the season brings along stunning hues of red and orange this time of year. We are busy preparing for the cooler months here in Golden Bay. Our annual Easter House Party saw about fifteen fabulous friends attend. The weekend was full of fun and connection complete with fireside chit chats, beach trips, wonderful meals and a frenzied egg hunt where a gaggle of beauties raced to see who could collect the most treats hidden throughout our bathhouse. Shane took the title with EIGHT eggs (but he kindly shared with our less skilled hunters). We even got a quick visit from Pete’s daughter Jo and her new beau Brian. The above photo shows our guests in costume prior to the Easter Egg Hunt. This was our last event until next Summer. We look forward to having a quiet six months to allow us to focus on upcoming projects including further work writing the history of Autumn Farm by Peter.

Solar Energy Fundraising!

While the length of the day continues to shorten here, we are working hard to take full advantage of the beautiful Golden Bay sunshine in the very near future. And you can help! We are excited to be launching our fundraising campaign to make our dream of being fully solar possible. We have been blessed by some wonderful friends of the Farm who have already generously donated to the cause but we need a little more love to get our panels up on the roof. We are excited to be partnering with Golden Bay Electrical to cover our main house roof with FORTY ONE beautiful panels along with TWO battery storage units to keep us humming along even on the greyest days. Will you be a part of making our little slice of heaven a little sunnier? Teamwork makes the dreamwork and mother Earth and Peter & Pete would be thrilled if you could pitch in a bit. We plan to have a GiveALittle fundraising page in the very near future. Stay tuned for that. In the meantime, you can donate via our bank account online. Autumn Farm - 03 1354 0299067 000. Please put "Solar Fund" in subject line. We already have enough to get the project started but we still need an additional $25,000 to complete. Our installation partner has informed us that the material costs recently increased due to global circumstances.

Cheers from Peter & Pete

If you find anything on this web site offensive, please know, I don't give a shit. If you choose, and it IS a choice, to be offended, then my work here is done. If I have made you think. If I have made you stop. If I have made you re consider. If I have made you - maybe - angry - and if that actually got your blood pumping and your mind racing, then that is good. It's time to wake up from the dream.

You make, and take, from the news that which you wish to see and hear. You observe what you want and comment of things that affect you personally. If you don't like something, do not read it and move on but do not shy away from what IS going on in the world of which - you are a part. World news is so easy to find these days and differing opinions not hard to find. Having an opinion is vital and being a ' don't care' person helps no one. So open your mind - open your heart - open your awareness and ALWAYS be open to new ideas.
