From an Uncertain Future and Pain to a Forever Home

Because of you, Daffy’s story has a happy ending. Read how your support made Daffy's journey possible and how you can help more horses like her.
When Daffy arrived with us in 2024 she carried the weight of illness and uncertainty; painful ulcers, severe asthma, hoof imbalance and fear from past trauma. She also had a displaced tooth that made life painful and meant she was unable to be rehomed.
Thanks to you; our generous supporters, we raised the funds needed for specialist veterinary care. Daffy’s tooth removal was complex, it took a trip to equine hospital, multiple vet visits at our charity, careful planning and intensive aftercare.
Throughout the whole process Daffy was a superstar, calm, brave and trusting of the team that loved and cared for her back to health.
The final step in her recovery journey...

After surgery she moved into a staged rehabilitation plan, gentle support for day-to-day tasks like eating and grooming, then progressive training through long reining and physical fitness work. Our vets reported her healing as amazing at her last dental check, a few small adjustments to her care (no chaff for now) and the finishing touches of physiotherapy and farriery were all that remained.
A patient wait, a perfect home, and a promised future.

Daffy's new family waited many months while she completed her medical care and rehabilitation, ensuring she was fully physically and mentally prepared. They never gave up on her. Throughout that time, our team ensured she had everything she needed to heal; kind handling, tailored feeding plans, pain management, physiotherapy, farrier visits and continuous emotional support.
When the day finally came, Daffy was strong, confident and ready to step into her forever home. We loaded her onto our horsebox and travelled her personally to her new home. It is one of the reasons we are different, we are there for every step and you were there with us too.
Thank you to everyone who believed in her journey. It's because of you, she walked into her forever home strong, comfortable, and pain-free.

Why this matters for every horse that comes to us
When you help one horse, you do more than fix a single problem. Each successful rescue and rehoming opens up space in the next horse in crisis, whether a surrender, a return, or a rescue. Every donation given helps us say “yes” to the next animal in need and transforms nightmares into new beginnings. You made Daffy’s dream come true and you can help make that same miracle possible for another horse.
Daffy’s recovery shows what compassion and community can do. She is proof that rescue works - when people come together, lives really do change. Please consider a gift today to help the next equine who needs our safe haven.
With all our thanks,
