how embarrassing.

The United States has suffered the largest and most embarrassing strategic defeat in its history.

This is not an overstatement, it is not clickbait. It’s just the most honest assessment of what President Trump signed less than 24 hours ago.

Here are the 14 Points of the MOU between the US and Iran:

TLDR:

  1. Complete military disengagement and retreat by both sides. — Huge L for the US since the Iranians are already on their own soil. The Americans are the ones who will have to GTFO.

  2. Strait of Hormuz reopens… but there’s no promise of a return to toll-free status. — This means that Iran will charge a toll, and the US has to accept it.

  3. $300 billion USD in compensation paid to Iran by Gulf States — This is despite the Gulf States not having participated in offensive operations against Iran

  4. Termination of all American sanctions against Iran — Mega-fvcking L for the Amerifats.

  5. Unfreezing of all Iranian assets overseas (estimates range to $124 billion USD) — another giant L

  6. Lebanon is covered in the ceasefire. — Israel is big mad.

  7. Iran promises not to acquire nuclear weapons. But it gets to keep all its current nuclear assets. The US gets nothing (not even the “nuclear dust”). — Keep in mind, Iran has always stated that it will not acquire nuclear weapons. It is a signatory of the Nuclear Non-proliferation Agreement after all.

In other words… Iran gave up nothing that it didn’t already concede before the war, while the US has given up everything. There’s literally nothing more that the Americans could surrender at this point. This defeat could not be more total.

TOTAL VICTORY FOR IRAN

The worst part of this deal (from the American perspective) is that Iran gets $424 billion USD worth of goodies from it in the short and medium term, meaning that even if Trump or a future US president cheats on the deal, they still got $424 billion USD out of it, not to mention the billions that they will make in tolls.

Assuming this agreement goes through as planned, this will make Iran the most powerful country in West Asia, full stop. It has the 2nd largest population after Egypt, the largest arable landmass, the largest domestic arms industry, and the most highly educated population.

It will also have something that very few West Asian countries have: a highly centralized and powerful state governance structure thanks to the IRGC. This ensures a level of regime stability in Iran that few other West Asian countries can dream of.

I mean… what more is there to say?

Iran chose the sword. It refused to back down. And now it is has achieved total victory and America has lost - to the tune of multi billions.

Is it becoming more likely that “confusion will be Trump’s epitaph?”

It seems Trump has crossed the rubicon into cognitive ineptitude. A recent Daily Beast article cited several examples of quotes signaling the president’s dive into dementia—some example statements from the recent

NATO summit in Turkey and his 4th of July address:

  • In referring to recent missile strikes on Iran, he said: ““We had 111 missiles shot by the Islamic Republic of Japan.”

  • It was reported that several times the president referred to Ukraine’s president as “President Putin.”

  • Pointing to President Zelensky he asked reporters: “Do you have a question for President Putin, please?”

  • “Do you know who’s number one on Tic Tac? I am” after which Trump reportedly corrected himself.

  • During his 4th of July speech, Trump went off-script to announce: “And as our Declaration of Independence tells us, we are all made in the image of one almighty god.” It was later reported these words do not appear in said Declaration.

Now imagine what might happen when this president garbles his orders to generals, and forgets who’s who as he attempt to direct and impose further acts of warfare in Iran. It’s quite apparent this president no longer has the cognitive skills and/or suffers from dementia to the degree to the point where he can no longer carry out the duties of his office.

--------

I do wonder how Maggie Thatcher would have handled Trumpo. Probably like Mary Poppins with the children. Or the Nun with her gaggle of 7 kids learning to sing. She MOST certainly would put him in his place, like a child , and he would be scared shitless of her.

You make, and take, from the news that which you wish to see and hear. You observe what you want and comment of things that affect you personally. If you don't like something, do not read it and move on but do not shy away from what IS going on in the world of which - you are a part. World news is so easy to find these days and differing opinions not hard to find. Having an opinion is vital and being a ' don't care' person helps no one. So open your mind - open your heart - open your awareness and ALWAYS be open to new ideas.
