Gay cruise blocked from entering Egypt days after being banned from Turkey
Atlantis Events president Richard Campbell says the cruise is the company’s first to have been banned from a port “because of who we are.”
A gay cruise that was previously blocked from entering Turkey has now been banned from Egypt.
Early on Thursday, just hours before it was scheduled to dock in Alexandria, passengers aboard the Scarlet Lady, a Virgin Voyages-owned ship chartered by American LGBTQ+ travel company Atlantis Events, were informed that the vessel had been banned from Egyptian waters “We’re incredibly disappointed to share that Scarlet Lady has just been denied entry into Egyptian waters and will no longer be able to call into Alexandria,” a message shared with passengers read, according to Travel Weekly. “We’re working hard to secure an alternative port.”
Being gay is legal in Turkey, and consensual same-sex relations have been decriminalized since 1858. However, there are no anti-discrimination protections, same-sex marriage is banned, and public displays of affection can sometimes lead to harassment or arrests under vague "public morality" laws
Being gay in Turkey is legal, but it is not culturally easy or overtly accepted. While same-sex relations are permitted, LGBTQ+ individuals face a lack of legal anti-discrimination protections, hostility from the conservative government, and widespread societal stigma. Public displays of affection are highly discouraged for anyone.
So why the fuck would Virgin Cruises decide to plan such an event with even the vaguest of thoughts this might happen. Has Virgin just taken the money and fuck the passengers ? Has Virgin REALLY no idea what they are doing ? Do the gays on board know they are going to a country like this and WTF planning and pre thought went into - or DID NOT GO INTO - planning such a cruise. Groups Menys Turisme, Més Vida, whose name translates to 'Less Tourism, More Life', and Arran Mallorca have released a 'Manual for Action Against Touristification'. The guide details how supporters can identify possible targets of 'non-violent direct action' against what it says is 'a system that is suffocating us'.Tourism signage, estate agents and hotels are all encouraged as potential places to act against – with guidance including suggestions to block key boxes for holiday rentals.

Documents seen by The Sun show a property development firm is going through the process of completing a deal to buy the convicted paedophile's former home. Man beat a 12-year-old while shouting anti-gay slurs in alleged hate crime

A 37-year-old man was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly beat a 12-year-old boy in a Manhattan playground while calling the kid a “gay fa***t.” According to New York Police, the alleged crime occurred on April 29, when Kevin Maxwell of Brooklyn confronted the teen victim outside a restroom at the Baruch Playground on the Lower East Side at around 6 p.m. “Are you stupid or something? You gay fa***t! Shut the f**k up,” Maxwell allegedly yelled at the kid before beating him with a belt. He then fled the scene.

World news is so easy to find these days and differing opinions not hard to find. Having an opinion is vital and being a ' don't care' person helps no one.
