Older drivers hit with car tax change from April 1st 2026
Story by Luke Chillingsworth

Older drivers are among those set to be affected by new car tax changes, with higher fees coming in just months. Almost all petrol, diesel and electric car owners will face higher bills from April as new Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) rates come into effect.
Under the rules, elderly road users are liable to pay the fees in the same as every other driver in the UK, with no exemptions based on age. Some types of vehicles, including those used by disabled motorists, are among those exempt from vehicle tax charges. It means motorists with a disability will not need to pay to use the road but healthy pensioners will be hit with fees

front of him . By John Russell
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has issued a formal apology to a former radio host for the anti-gay harassment he endured while employed by the broadcaster. As the BBC itself reports, Jack Murley worked for BBC Radio Cornwall from 2019 to 2024, when he was fired for social media posts that violated the broadcaster’s guidelines on impartiality. Following his dismissal, Murley alleged that he had been discriminated against because he is gay and union representative for the National Union of Journalists (NUJ).

Eerie photos show inside Andrew's abandoned mansion four miles from Royal Lodge
Story by Rebecca Russell

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's move out of Royal Lodge is just days away and will undoubtedly prove a challenge to pack up everything he has accumulated since he moved there in 2004. Before he called the 30-room mansion home, Andrew had lived in nearby Sunninghill Park before his divorce from Sarah Ferguson.
After the former couple went their separate ways, their previous home was transferred into a trust controlled by Queen Elizabeth II's closest financial advisers for £12,500. In 2007, the trust sold the property to an offshore trust belonging to a Kazakh billionaire for £15 million.
It then fell into significant disrepair, and a collection of rarely seen photographs taken at the property reveals just how rundown the home had become after it was abandoned. Sunninghill Park was left in such a state that, in 2016, the decision was taken to demolish it altogether.
I ordered a full English breakfast in Asda's café - I expected much better for the price
Story by Michael Moran

Restaurant reviewer Gary Hanna has travelled across the UK in search of the nation's best - and occasionally worst - culinary offerings, but a recent visit to an Asda superstore proved particularly challenging.
Known for putting a positive spin on his reviews for his GaryEats channel, Gary admitted he was beaten this time after sampling the supermarket giant's lunchtime burger. "That was really hard to eat. It's like eating cardboard. The burger is so dry... It's been in the sun. It's been in the Sahara; it is absolutely not good," he said.
Shakespeare was actually a black Jewish woman, new book claims
Story by Sami Quadri

William Shakespeare was a "black Jewish woman" whose work was stolen by a semi-literate businessman, a controversial new book has claimed.
Feminist historian Irene Coslet argues the real genius behind the world's most famous plays was Emilia Bassano, a Tudor court poet who used "Shakespeare" as a pen name.
JB: Will these feminists stop at nothing ???
Meghan Markle sent letter to King Charles 'complaining about royal rules'
Story by Sophia Papamavroudi

Meghan Markle allegedly sent a letter to King Charles seeking answers on why "different rules" applied to her and Prince Harry compared to other royals, it has been claimed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit the Royal Family in 2020 and moved to the US for a new life.
Although the Sussexes originally wanted to be "part-time" royals, their wish was not granted by the late Queen Elizabeth and both sides agreed that they should carry on with their lives in America without using their HRH titles, which they still retain, for commercial gain. And despite the frosty rift that has been building between them, it has been claimed that the Duchess attempted to deal with it privately.
I give her one thing, she has enoumous balls - as WTF does she think she is ?

Meghan Markle shows true colours as she 'rebrands' image ahead of UK return
Story by Sasha Morris

Meghan Markle appears to be attempting a "rebrand" as Prince Harry is planning for her to eventually return to the UK. Meghan and Harry were seen at the Salt Lake City celebration and premiere of "Cookie Queens" during the 2026 Sundance Film Festival at Rose Wagner Performing Arts Centre. The pair opted for a casual look, with Meghan pictured in a black long-sleeved top and jeans, while Harry wore a black top, dark gilet and grey jeans as they posed with Director of the Sundance Film Festival, Eugene Hernandez.
Who gives a rats ass what she thinks, does or anything. Harry is royal and she is no body so, why are all the headlines about her all the time, this vile piece of manipulative attention seeking trash. ( To harsh ??? ) 'Trump behaves like a bully - but Starmer's proving one thing'
Story by Emily Thornberry

It’s been a really difficult week for Britain.
The United States will always be Britain's most important ally, we share a uniquely close relationship, from economic to defence to culture. But in recent weeks, the leader of our closest ally has behaved like a bully; he has been rude, he has undermined international law, he has tried to undermine the UK and threatened the survival of NATO as a whole.
King intervenes after Trump's jibe at UK troops
Sarah Hooper

After claiming that British troops ‘stayed a little off the frontlines’ in Afghanistan, Donald Trump has backtracked – thanks to the intervention of King Charles. Trump’s claims that the US ‘never needed’ UK troops infuriated veterans this weekend. He said: ‘They’ll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan… and they did, they stayed a little back, a little off the frontlines.’
Conservatives freak out over pronoun joke in new “He-Man” movie trailer
Little may they know, some gay fans have long considered He-Man as one of the gayest series of all time.

Online conservatives are upset that the fantasy action hero He-Man displays “he/him” pronouns in the recently released trailer for the upcoming film Masters of the Universe. Little do they know, some gay fans have long considered He-Man as one of the gayest series of all time.
Approximately 37 seconds into the trailer, it’s revealed that the royal hero from the planet Eternia now works a desk job on Earth, with a nameplate on his desk that reads, “Adam Glenn He/Him.” It’s obviously a joke, since He-Man literally has the pronoun “he” in his name, but conservative commenters on X have blamed the “woke mind virus” for causing the fantasy hero to “[promote] gender/trans ideology.”
There is a stall in the marketplace where I live. It’s very explicitly a US-owned brand. It has the American flag flying outside of it. It is also the quietest stand in the marketplace.
Years ago, I would have admired the US. I boughy the bullshit about America standing for freedom and human rights. What a fool I was. Seems now that was just a cover for America to buy all of our assets and fuck us over in the process, to make my country, the UK a vassal state to imperial, capitalist interests.
That stand in the marketplace has gotten quieter and quieter as time has gone on. Hardly anyone goes to it now compared to the other stalls, even on the busiest days of the week. People increasingly look at the American flag and feel either contempt, disgust, or disappointent. Increasingly we wonder, if Trump is the rot, or the symptom of the rot. If Donald Trump is America, then America is fucking disgusting.
