Steve Kotis / Charles Atlas & X Rated

English schoolboys are in disbelief seeing physique model Steve Kotis, 1964...

The man at the center of moments like this was Steve Kotis, a prominent figure in the pre-steroid, pre-gym-chain era of bodybuilding. During the 1960s, physical culture was still niche, especially outside the U.S., and muscular development came almost entirely from bodyweight training, free weights, and manual labor, not supplements or specialized machines. Kotis emerged during a transitional period when bodybuilding was shifting from vaudeville strongmen to aesthetic “physique” ideals.

This was the same era that produced icons like Reg Park and a young Arnold Schwarzenegger, but before mass fitness culture reached schools or mainstream media. In Britain particularly, muscularity was still viewed with suspicion, associated more with circus acts than sport.

Public exhibitions and informal demonstrations were common ways physique athletes earned income and spread interest in training.

For many young onlookers, encounters like this were their first exposure to deliberate muscular development. In the early 1960s, fewer than 1 in 50 secondary schools in England had dedicated weight-training equipment making physiques like Kotis’s seem almost unreal to a generation raised on calisthenics alone.

I first became aware of body building when I was around 11 or 12 years of age , when I saw an advert in the paper for Charles Atlas - whose adverts about getting sand kicked in your face by the bullies, and the exact advert I saw is below - and this made him a house hold name in building up your body with nothing more than a broom stick. I sent away for the brochure but my Mother got the answer and opened it, even though addressed to me, and laughed. Not in a nasty way, but in the ' Your perfect as you are' kind of laugh, and that was that for another 20 years until I discovered the gym and a thrice weekly workout for the next 15 years. As an escort, you need your body to look good as it is - after all - your business suit.

Now it seems as if everyone is working out and trying to get that perfect body.

Gyms have changed as have their users.

It is so common in the gay world and ' the body beautiful' is COMPLETELY

different to what was considered as being ' the body beautiful' decades ago. Just look at the old movies...Ben Hurr with Charlton Heston with his Dad Bod... No definition, No washboard stomach, No enormous pecks -just a Dad bod.

You pick up this hot guy while shopping. He is what appears to be BUILT. You get back to his place and you have a snog and a fumble, and - er - there seemed something wrong here but -

You start to get naked and WHAT A BOD ON THIS GUY - toned and tight and - well - perfection of muscular definition. Beautiful. You just stare in wonder at the washboard stomach and the shoulders etc...

Come take his trousers and pant down and - Oh dear - The steroids have played their part and while building muscle mass, it has shrunk the cock and balls to teeny tiny... It may be great to have this superb body, but when it comes to sex , a decent dick helps and when shrivvelled up because of steroids, and where sometimes the innability to get a stiffy - WHAT IS THE POINT IN HAVING THIS AMAZING BODY IF WHEN YOU DO MEET THE MAN OF YOUR DREAMS, YOU CAN'T PERFORM.....

If you find anything on this web site offensive, please know, I don't give a shit. If you choose, and it IS a choice, to be offended, then my work here is done. If I have made you think. If I have made you stop. If I have made you re consider. If I have made you - maybe - angry - and if that actually got your blood pumping and your mind racing, then that is good. It's time to wake up from the dream. It's time to face reality. The here and now is what is important and being the best yiou can be. So - why settle for second best - and Im talking about your Self. Be the best you can be.

You make, and take, from the news that which you wish to see and hear. You observe what you want and comment of things that affect you personally. If you don't like something, do not read it and move on but do not shy away from what IS going on in the world of which - you are a part. World news is so easy to find these days and differing opinions not hard to find. Having an opinion is vital and being a ' don't care' person helps no one. So open your mind - open your heart - open your awareness and ALWAYS be open to new ideas.
