What can American tourists do to feel more welcome in Europe.

1 - Don't imitate the American tourists who were seen trying to take down a French flag on July 14th and wondering why they’ve been arrested by the police.
2 - Stop with the ' We are the Greatest' as clearly - you are not.
3 - Behave normally in the street, don't shout. We always say - you hear an American tourist before you see him.
4 - Don't try to bring back a piece of historical monument. After the Da Vinci Code movie, it was necessary to put up plexiglass panels to prevent damage in the church of St. Germain des Prés .
5 - Don't think you're in a third world country or at Disneyland and do not expect the world to cater to American wants.
6 - Politeness is important, so a hello when entering a store is important.
7 - Don't call the waiter in a cafe with a snap of your fingers. Likewise, in a cafe or restaurant, don't forget that you are not alone, be discreet. Not everyone wants to hear your donkey yelling accent and stop comparing the food to American food, you are not at home now.
8 - Avoid bad taste. Americans are not known for good taste at the best of times. Try and simply blend in.
9 - Don’t wear MAGA caps or shirts, especially in Denmark or ANYWHERE come to that. Those who do, deserve all they get.

10 - Please note that the River Thames does not flow into the Gulf of Mexico - oops - Gulf of America but into the English Channel or la Manche.
11 - Remember you are speaking MY language - ENGLISH - Oh you may have messed it up and you pronounce words completely incorrectly, but you ARE speaking ENGLISH and - guess what - it comes from ENGLAND. The language is ENGLISH and NOT American.
12 - Don’t try to pay with US $ dollars. The official currency in Europe is the euro, the british £ pound or the danish crown (for denmark and greenland) 6 other currencies and please realise, we do not want your $.
13 - Don’t complain about Cobblestone streets, lack of air conditioning, driving on the left, warm beer, healthier foods or about small portion sizes while dining out.
14 - Don’t come with Karen and do not be a Karen - or a Snowflake come to that. ( google it if you don't understand )
15 - Do not expect everything and everyone to act like they are Americans. Everything is different and YOU are the foreigner in a foreign land, please remember that YOU ARE NOT IN THE USA NOW so show some grown up behaviour and adapt accordingly and offer respect.
16 - DO NOT say - 'But at home we do it this way - or that way - ' as we really don't give a damn how you do it.

17 - Remember that the USA - in the global scheme of safe places to live, IS WAY DOWN THE LIST and way behind almost every European country standing at 60th place on the gobal list. NOT VERY GOOD and NOTHING to shout about.
18 - If we hear you say ' But I'm an American' know it gets you absolutely nowhere as most people, especially now and because of Trump, hate Americans for what your country is doing under Trump and YOU VOTED FOR HIM.
19 - Most of us in Europe do know it is a small minority that voted for Trump and that the country is full of wonderful, thoughtful, educated people, it's just a shame they seem to be in the minority.
20 - Stop assuming we are all jealous of America ( ns ) WE ARE NOT and assumg otherwise just makes you look so foolish and immature. Our culture and history pre dates yours by - sometimes - THOUSANDS OF YEARS - and just remember YOU ARE ALL FROM MIGRANTS originally, running away from something.
So in conclusion don’t be like the 'Ugly / Vulgar American Abroad' -
and remember,- Europe is not for sale…
Now: I am NOT saying we here in the UK do not have our appallingly badly behaved people who embarrass the rest of us when they go abroad, because we do. Most countries do. But somehow, American tourists are often - the loudest and the most show off, the most vulgar and when so many assume we will bow down to their superiority, we just laugh as it's so ridiculous. Let's be honest - Most Americans know shit about European history or even world history come to that and how we were here LONG before the USA was colonised - BY EUROPE, as many Europen countries have histories that go back thousand sof years.
Sadly, because of Trump, America has slid way down in world respect and we just pity you now.
While most countries are having political troubles - America, being the bully under Trump, thinks it can bully its way around the world and ignore old friendships and legally binding contracts and just do what it wants and how the world will come running, and as has been shown, the world is turning away from America and it really will take generations to reclaim its position in the world worthy of doing business with again.

America is sinking fast and it took one man - ONE MAN - TRUMP - to destroy decades of good will - friendships, business partnerships and respect - ALL GONE. Just look at the insulting manner offered towards Canada - Americas neighbour and trading partner - for as trump stated many times -
'Canada is a nasty - a nasty country to negotiate with and it has nothing we want.'
and all because Canada will not bow down to this bully this moron, this bankrupted, raping, molester.
Oh really...
The slogan should read :- 'MAKE AMERICA BROKE AGAIN.
MAKE TUMP RICH AGAIN.

I think many US-Americans misunderstand the issue. Like you, they often think the tariffs are the problem, but they aren’t, at least they aren’t the main problem.

The tariffs aren’t why people don’t go to disneyland anymore. Sure, they are annyoing because they hurts our economies too, but that’s about it. Instead, safety is the main reason for many, making a political statement is another; economic retaliation is not the main motivation for most people I know.
The USA has chosen to be an unreliable ally, it has shown the world that its word means nothing, that it is quick to threaten allies and that foreigners aren’t safe there.
People do not trust the USA anymore. They fear detention or deportation without due process, even with valid documentation. They fear just being turned away at the border, which is a problem when you spent a few thousand Euros on flights and hotels.
Additionally, the USA has always had a gun crime and homicide problem in general. Compared to Germany, the USA is a very unsafe country, now more than ever. The civil unrests aren’t helping either.
When people can’t feel safe in a country, can’t trust its police and judicial system to treat them fairly and to protect them and can’t trust the country to not antagonize them, they aren’t inclined to visit it.
I wouldn’t visit North Korea either because I can’t trust it and right now I can’t trust the USA much more.
Even when Trump is gone, those memories will linger. It is easy to lose trust, but it is difficult to gain it.
When people don’t trust you, it’s hard to prove trustworthy and I wouldn’t want to rely on the USA given what has been happening in the last 6 months.
My sister had plans to visit the USA this year, like she does every year, but she cancelled her plans because, like me, she has an uncommon first name, which makes her a prime target for Trump’s goons. Even before Trump’s second term, she was always subjected to additional questioning by TSA, but now she has to fear not being let into the country at all or worse, being detained or even deported to some third country; traveling to the USA is just out of the question for the time being.
