Households warned over electric fan rule during 30C heatwave

Government advice for heatwave weather has been issued and there's one important thing you need to consider. Using an electric fan during a heatwave is one way to cool down and the item is one that many will be relying on as the weather gets warmer, with the Met Office predicting temperatures upwards of 30C in the coming days across some parts of the country.

Why taking a cold shower on a hot day
might be a bad idea
When the weather warms up, many of us use a nice cold shower to help us cool down.
But while this might feel like relief, it might actually not be helping the body cool off at all.
I was in India many many moons ago and found myself on this deserted beach, or so I thought.
I was aware that some distance away was some small fishing boats and as one of the boats came towards the shore I was aware it was coming really close to where I was sat and there was this tall lean man standing on the boat in just - a brief loincloth.
