I have scores of Muslim friends who have lived here their whole lives, and they eat pork, have dogs as pets and do not consider it okay to rape a 13 year old girl or pray in the middle of the street blocking traffic - it is as alien and appalling to them as it is to us.
These are the Moderates. Those who do not abuse the people in the country they are seeking assylum in and they do not wish to demand change to fit in with their beliefs and lifestyle - otherwise - go move to a Muslim country .
How much of what we think we know is true, or misinformation. How much are we being manipulated and how much do we NEED to be manipulated into seeing the truths. Too many see life through rose tinted ( it doesn't affect me... ) glasses and a wider view of reality is essential. BUT - not one made with preconceived ideas which may be wrong.
In history the Christian Church has a great deal more blood on its hands but in recent times some radical scholars of the Koran are teaching a limited view and are NOT teaching the truth about peace, love and understanding but it seems more about hate, violence and murder which is VERY AGAINST MOHAMED AND THE KORAN and any religion that permits and promotes sex with girls as young as 8 by ' husbands' who are in their 60's and in one case, he fucked her so hard it killed the 8 year old girl and NOTHING IS DONE.
This may have been acceptable in Mohameds time, but not now.
THAT IS ALLOWED IN A RELIGION ?
THIS IS NOT A RELIGION, it is a GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD.
I respect their culture but there are certain aspects which seem quite archiac and out of sync with the world today.
Same goes for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) which is most heavily concentrated in a geographical belt spanning Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. It is appalling and so male dominated it screams WRONG.
( All so the women cannot enjoy sexual pleasure. Only the man...)
It is not, currently, being shown as a religion of peace but a religion of war - and to that aim, I will speak up against and that is NOT isalaphobia - it is a genuine fear that things are headed in a bad direction.
This may be the few, but it fires people up on both sides and creates such disharmony

You make, and take, from the news that which you wish to see and hear. You observe what you want and comment of things that affect you personally. If you don't like something, do not read it and move on but do not shy away from what IS going on in the world of which - you are a part. World news is so easy to find these days and differing opinions not hard to find. Having an opinion is vital and being a ' don't care' person helps no one. So open your mind - open your heart - open your awareness and ALWAYS be open to new ideas.
