A mother has written a touching note to the teenager who taught her daughter how to use her skateboard has gone viral. "Dear teenage boy at the skate park:
You’re probably about 15 years-old, so I don’t expect you to be very mature or for you to want a little girl on your skate ramp for that matter. What you don’t know is that my daughter has been wanting to skateboard for months.
Scroll to the bottom for a surprise the world waited 25 years for.
I actually had to convince her that skateboarding wasn’t just for boys. So when we walked up to the skate park and saw that it was full of teenaged boys who were smoking and swearing, she immediately wanted to turn around and go home.
I secretly wanted to go too because I didn’t want to have to put on my mom voice and exchange words with you. I also didn’t want my daughter to feel like she had to be scared of anyone, or that she wasn’t entitled to that skate park just as much as you were.

So when she said, 'Mom it’s full of older boys,'
I calmly said, 'So what, they don’t own the skate park.'
She proceeded to go down the ramp in spite of you and your friends flying past her and grinding rails beside her.
She only had two or three runs in before you approached her and said 'Hey, excuse me …' I immediately prepared to deliver my 'She’s allowed to use this park just as much as you guys' speech when I heard you say,
'Your feet are wrong. Can I help you?'
You proceeded to spend almost an hour with my daughter showing her how to balance and steer, and she listened to you – a feat not attained by most adults.
You held her hand and helped her get up when she fell down and I even heard you tell her to stay away from the rails so that she wouldn’t get hurt. I want you to know that I am proud that you are part of my community, and I want to thank you for being kind to my daughter, even though your friends made fun of you for it.
She left the skate park with a sense of pride and with the confidence that she can do anything, because of you

When a bear saves a bear.
I was visiting South Lake Tahoe when I saw something I’ll never forget.
A large black bear had fallen into the lake beneath the Tallac Bridge. It had been tranquilized by wildlife officers and was becoming weaker in the cold water.
People were standing on the shore, watching helplessly.
I couldn’t just stand there.
I took off my shoes and jumped into the water.
The bear was struggling to stay above the surface, so I swam toward it and held its head above the water. I kept talking to it softly in Russian, hoping it would stay calm.
Slowly, I guided the bear toward the shore.
When we finally reached the edge, the wildlife officers took over. They checked the bear, made sure it was okay, and later released it back into the wilderness.
Someone asked me why I had risked my life for a bear.
I simply said, “Where I come from, we believe a person’s strength is shown by who they choose to protect—even if that person has claws.”
Sometimes, helping someone who needs you is more important than being afraid.

In 2015, a Texas man named George Pickering II faced a crisis when doctors declared his son brain-dead following a stroke; the local hospital was preparing to withdraw life support and contact organ donation agencies.
Convinced his son still showed signs of life, Pickering stormed the hospital room with a gun and locked the door to keep others out. After the hospital called the police, he was in a standoff with special police for three hours.
During the standoff, his son, at his father's instruction, grasped his hand, proving that he was not brain dead. Pickering subsequently surrendered and served a year in prison; his son eventually made a miraculous recovery.
Well done Dad, you saved your sons life.

A stray dog kept carrying a pink bicycle helmet into the middle of a mountain road. Cars were forced to slow down, but the dog always brought the helmet back.
One afternoon, seven of us stopped while riding our motorcycles. The dog was very thin and looked tired. When I tried to move the helmet, she growled and then looked toward the guardrail.
I followed her and noticed something below the road. There was a small red bicycle near a drainage channel.
Then I saw a young girl lying nearby.
She was not moving.
I climbed down and checked her. At first, I could not feel a pulse, but then I found one. She was alive but badly injured.
The dog had been trying to lead someone to her.
18th April - No news until 1955

25 yeas later - on April 18th 1955

The BBC announced with a grand fan fare and HUGE celebration, with live cameras at the scene, the media ( called the Press in those days ) were all in attandence waiting for news outside the hospital in Hounslow, West London. It had been 9 months in the making and now was the day.
The mass of people were sat near their TV screens in anticaption.
The drama built in the nation.
The world held its breath.
Nothing would be the same again.
Time tick tocked forwards.
The excitement built until at 2.05am when a baby boy way born,- and 20 minutes later,- his twin brother was born, and the world welcomed The Bellamy Twins.
( Have you got it yet ??? )
So 25 years after there was NO NEWS ON THE BBC - there was news - maybe not on the BBC or even in the media, but I was born on 18th April 1955.
It took the world 25 years waiting with NO NEWS.
SO - Was it worth the wait ?

Not sure which is me and which is my brother and my poor suffering sister in the middle, I say suffering as I am sure my brother and I must have made her life hell, being kids, we were never evil, just as kids are, playful and she being 2 years older, was left ' in charge many times ( legal in those days ) and we played her up mercifully... . Poor Diane or as her stage name - Dash...

His daughter did not think much of it because staying out late was normal for him. However, the next morning, he still had not come home and was not answering his phone. Worried, his daughter contacted the police.
The officers searched the nearby country roads and eventually found the farmer in a very unusual situation. He was asleep beside an empty road, with an open bottle nearby. Even more surprising, a deer was lying next to him.
The unusual discovery left the officers with a memorable scene to deal with that morning. Sometimes, an ordinary night can end in a story that nobody expects.
