He bought a tiny island and planted thousands of trees

For just $13,000, an Englishman named Brendon Grimshaw once bought a tiny, uninhabited island in the Seychelles and then moved there permanently.

He was not yet 40 when he walked away from his job as a newspaper editor and decided to start life all over again… on an island where no human had stepped foot for 50 years.
Like a modern-day Robinson Crusoe, Brendon found a friend and partner in the journey a local man named René Lafortin. Together, they began turning this forgotten island into a home. René visited from time to time, but Brendon lived there full-time for decades, completely devoted to the land. 🌱
Over the next 39 years, the two of them planted 16,000 trees with their own hands and created nearly 5 kilometers of walking paths.
When René passed away in 2007, Brendon then 81 continued the work alone. 💚
What he accomplished is nothing short of magical:
🕊 He brought 2,000 new bird species to the island.
🐢 He introduced over 100 giant tortoises, helping save them from near extinction.
🌿 And because of his dedication, this once-deserted speck of land now holds two-thirds of all Seychelles fauna.

Brendon didn’t just live on the island he saved it, nurtured it, and turned it into paradise. 🌺✨
Years later, the Prince of Saudi Arabia offered him $50 million for the island. Brendon said no.
He didn’t want it turned into a playground for the wealthy.
Instead, he said:
“Let it be a national park that everyone can enjoy.”
And he got his wish.
In 2008, the island was officially declared a national park protected forever. 🌍💚
A single man’s love, patience, and devotion brought an entire island back to life. What a legacy

Elvis Presley died in a rather horrifying manner.

A decades-long severe addiction to pills had left Elvis with horrific constipation. As a result of forcing his bowel movement out, he strained his heart and suffered a fatal heart attack. He fell off the pot, pants on his ankles, but did not die immediately…
While on the floor, Elvis vomited. He crawled several feet away from the toilet, then died face down in the rug in his own vomit and excrement. His autopsy discovered that he had been constipated for weeks and that his colon was as long as nine feet, whereas a normal colon is between five and six feet in length. He died bloated, swollen and in horrible pain, his heart and intestines wrecked by a life of addiction and drug abuse…
Glamorous, the ending of Elvis Presley was not. Was he aware that he was going to die, when his heart gave out on the toilet? Did he scramble to at least put his pants back on, did he try and fail to call for help? We’ll never know, what went through his mind in those final moments. But it must have been terrible. The price of fame and fortune is often high. Too high.

You make, and take, from the news that which you wish to see and hear. You observe what you want and comment of things that affect you personally. If you don't like something, do not read it and move on but do not shy away from what IS going on in the world of which - you are a part. World news is so easy to find these days and differing opinions not hard to find. Having an opinion is vital and being a ' don't care' person helps no one. So open your mind - open your heart - open your awareness and ALWAYS be open to new ideas.
