The brutality of life in Iran - so much for religion.

On September 13, 2022, a 22 year old woman named Mahsa Amini stepped out of her brother's car in Tehran, Iran.
She was in the capital visiting relatives, far from her hometown of Saqez.
Within minutes, she was stopped.
Officers from Iran's morality police, a special unit that enforces the country's strict dress code for women, accused her of showing too much hair under her headscarf.
That was the entire offence. A few strands of hair.
She was placed in a police van and taken away for what officials called "education" on the rules.
Witnesses who were there that day later said she was beaten inside the van. They said officers struck her head and slammed it against the vehicle.
The police denied all of it.
At the detention centre, Mahsa collapsed. Police released CCTV footage showing her speaking with a female officer, who is seen pulling at her clothing. Moments later, Mahsa grabs her own head, and falls to the ground.
She was rushed to Kasra Hospital in Tehran.
She never woke up.
For three days, Mahsa lay in a coma while her family waited outside, demanding answers nobody would give them. Her father was not even allowed to see her official autopsy report.
On September 16, 2022, Mahsa Amini died. She was 22 years old.
Police called it "sudden heart failure." A government coroner later backed that up, blaming her death on a lack of oxygen to the brain, and denying any blows caused it.
Her father rejected every word of it. He said Mahsa had no history of heart problems. He said he saw bruises on her legs. He said the authorities were lying to protect themselves.
He was not the only one who refused to accept the official story.
Mahsa's death set off the largest wave of unrest Iran had seen in years. Women burned their headscarves in the streets. Others cut their hair off in public, filming themselves as they did it.
The protests spread from her hometown of Saqez to cities across the entire country.
The government's response was brutal. Security forces fired live rounds, metal pellets, and tear gas into crowds of protesters. Within the first few days alone, multiple people were reported killed. Over the following months, hundreds more protesters lost their lives, and thousands were arrested.
Mahsa was not the only young woman whose name the world learned that year.
Nika Shakarami was 16 years old. She was last seen burning her headscarf at a protest in Tehran, telling a friend by message that police officers were chasing her. Nine days later, her family was called to identify her body. Officials claimed she fell from a building. Her mother said her skull and nose had been smashed, and that relatives were pressured to lie about how she died.
Sarina Esmailzadeh was also 16. She was a young content creator who dreamed of a bigger life. Rights groups say she was beaten with batons by security forces during a protest. Authorities claimed she jumped from a roof.
Hadis Najafi was 22, the same age as Mahsa. She was shot multiple times, in the face, neck, chest, abdomen, and hand, during a protest in Karaj.
Three young women. Three official stories that their own families refused to believe.
We will never forget what was done to them.
No officer has ever been held publicly accountable for any of these deaths.
Their names are still chanted in protests around the world, years later.

If you don't like something, do not read it and move on but do not shy away from what IS going on in the world of which - you are a part. World news is so easy to find these days and differing opinions not hard to find. Having an opinion is vital and being a ' don't care' person helps no one. So open your mind - open your heart - open your awareness and ALWAYS be open to new ideas.
