IT SPEAKS TO ME
The Pope calls in all the Cardinals and Bishops to an emergency meeting at the Vatican.
He says, “My sons! My brothers! I have amazing news. I have spoken on the telephone with the Lord Jesus Christ Himself! He gave me news to share. Do you want the good news or the bad news first?”
The Cardinals and Bishops all cried for the good news first.
The Pope said: “ The good news is that the Lord is coming, the rapture is at hand, and the Lord will be leading his chosen to Heaven!”
The Cardinals and Bishops looked as one another uncertainly and asked what the bad news was.
The Pope responded, “He was calling from Salt Lake City.”
Following years of trying, the CEO of Tyson Chicken finally gets an audience with the Pope. After performing all the required protocol, he says to the Pope:
“Holy Father, I humbly beseech a favor of you. I’m prepared to make a donation of one million dollars to the Church if you will change the wording of the Lord’s Prayer to ‘Give us this day our daily chicken’.”
The Pope replies “My son, that’s impossible. I could not change the wording of one of the most beloved prayers ever.”
“Your Holiness, I believe I misspoke. I meant to say I would donate 100 million dollars to the church if the wording of the Lord’s Prayer would be changed to ‘Give us this day our daily chicken’.”
“I’m sorry, my son, but that is something I cannot do. It would be tantamount to sacrilige.”
“Holy Father, you must forgive me. In my excitement of meeting you, I misspoke again. I meant to say I would donate one billion dollars to the Church if the wording of the Lord’s Prayer were to be changed to ‘Give us this day our daily chicken’.”
The scene now shifts to the College of Cardinals. The Pope addresses the group:
“My Brothers in Christ: I have good news and bad news to share with you:
The good news is the Church is the recipient of an unrestricted gift of one billion dollars. The bad news is we’ve lost the Wonder Bread account.”
You make, and take, from the news that which you wish to see and hear. You observe what you want and comment of things that affect you personally. If you don't like something, do not read it and move on but do not shy away from what IS going on in the world of which - you are a part. World news is so easy to find these days and differing opinions not hard to find. Having an opinion is vital and being a ' don't care' person helps no one. So open your mind - open your heart - open your awareness and ALWAYS be open to new ideas.
