"It ain't over till the fat lady sings"
is a proverb meaning a situation is not finalized until the very end, often used in sports to imply a comeback is possible. The phrase originated from the stereotype of Wagnerian opera, specifically Brunhilde in Götterdämmerung, whose final aria concludes the long Ring Cycle.

FRONT PARLOUR
In a large house the Parlour was the room with the finest furniture and fitings and kept for special occasions - ie: Gatherings before and after a funeral and this room became known as ' THE DEAD ROOM' - until over time and with changing burial traditions, it became 'THE LIVING ROOM.'
Now - I bet you didn't know that ...

Why is it called a wake?
A wake is called a wake because it historically involved staying awake and keeping a vigil (or watch) over the body of a deceased person between death and burial. Derived from Old English and Old Norse, this tradition served to honor the dead, protect them from evil spirits, and ensure they were not in a deep coma or suffering from Narcolepsia- as MANY THOUSANDS were buried alive in Victorian times - presuming they were dead, and so were left on the table in the coffin for anything up to a week - in the parlour - in case the person WOKE UP... as is to wake up. hence, it is called a wake.

Bill wakes up at home with a huge hangover. He forces himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins and a glass of water on the side table. He sits down and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pressed. Bill looks around the room and sees that it is in perfect order, spotless, and clean. So's the rest of the house.
He takes the aspirins and notices a note on the table "Honey, breakfast is on the stove, I left early to go shopping. Love you." So he goes to the kitchen and sure enough, there is a hot breakfast and the morning newspaper. His son is also at the table, eating.
Bill asks, "Son, what happened last night?" His son says, "Well, you came home after 3 A.M., drunk and delirious. Broke some furniture, puked in the hallway, and gave yourself a black eye when you stumbled into the door." Confused, Bill asks, "So, why is everything in order and so clean, and breakfast is on the table waiting for me?" His son replies, "Oh that! Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your pants off you said, "Lady leave me alone, I'm married!"

The school said boys couldn't wear shorts in 32-degree heat.
The boys read the uniform rules and found a loophole.

In June 2017, during one of the hottest weeks in Britain in 40 years, around 30 boys at Isca Academy, a secondary school in Exeter, Devon, turned up to class in tartan skirts. The reason: their school uniform only permitted long trousers for boys, even as temperatures climbed past 32°C. Shorts were not an option.
The protest started small. On June 21, five boys wore borrowed skirts from friends and sisters. The next day, the number had grown to around 30, with some estimates closer to 50. One mother told Devon Live that her son had been told he would be placed in isolation for the rest of the week if he wore shorts. When the boys pointed out the unfairness that girls could go bare-legged, the headteacher reportedly said — likely sarcastically — that they were welcome to wear skirts too. The boys took her up on it.
One of the students described the experience as "quite refreshing." Photos of the tartan-clad boys went viral on Twitter and attracted support from across the country.
Within days, the school issued a statement. Headteacher Aimee Mitchell confirmed that none of the boys would be punished and that shorts would be added to the uniform for the following school year, after consultation with students and parents. The protest worked.

Wearing black at a funeral as mourning clothing was a symbol of wealth in Europe in the Middle Ages. Only the richest people could afford to wear black clothing as it was expensive to come by. Many widows competed to be the most extravagant, adorning themselves with long trains, hoods, valuable "mourning jewellery," usually made from Jet - and black veils.
Jet jewelry is a historically significant, deep black, lightweight material made from fossilized wood (primarily Jurassic). Famously worn as Victorian mourning jewelry, particularly when sourced from Whitby, England,

In many other countries and religions, different colours are associated with mourning. White is worn by Buddhists and Hindus. White is considered a symbol of purity in India and China. The rest of the world also adopt brighter colours to celebrate a life gone by - purple is worn in Thailand, yellow in Myanmar and Egypt, and blue in Iran.

The Finger of God is a phrase used in the Pentateuch or the Five Books of Moses, specifically in the Book of Exodus, to describe an expression of God's power - like sending a thunder bolt to strikle a certain orange faces demon.

John. My business here in Florida lost half its staff to ICE recently even though all my workers were legal. One big raid one morning and this shut us down. So not only is Trumps economy ruining America, ICE is doingt the rest. Trump is destroying the USA and taking the rest of the planet down with him. We, the normal people of America are appalled at how fast this man has destroyed everything good we were respected for around the world. Josh. ( Sarasota Fl. )

I have been saying for some years that Trump is another Hitler
and people thought I was nuts and laughed at me.
Now whose laughing.

If you find anything on this web site offensive, please know, I don't give a shit. If you choose, and it IS a choice, to be offended, then my work here is done. If I have made you think. If I have made you stop. If I have made you re consider. If I have made you - maybe - angry - and if that actually got your blood pumping and your mind racing, then that is good. It's time to wake up from the dream.
You make, and take, from the news that which you wish to see and hear. You observe what you want and comment of things that affect you personally. If you don't like something, do not read it and move on but do not shy away from what IS going on in the world of which - you are a part. World news is so easy to find these days and differing opinions not hard to find. Having an opinion is vital and being a ' don't care' person helps no one. So open your mind - open your heart - open your awareness and ALWAYS be open to new ideas.
