Jesus was not a Jew

To be honest, this is from an American Christian stating the above.

I once had a guy get mad when we had a mild religious discussion and I said, well, Jesus was a Jew, of course. He got really mad and said “don’t say that again”.
And I chuckled, dude, what? Quit screwing with me Jesus was obviously Jewish.
He said something bizarre like “I don’t know what you’re talking about but Jesus was not a Jew”.
I wasn’t going to stand for this unbelievable ignorance. Told him “Of COURSE he was Jewish, he fulfilled the Messianic prophecy and Of Course this is why there is Christianity because it is named after the Messiah named Jesus Christ. The guy seemed genuinely confused and upset.
UNBELIEVABLY, his dad was a preacher from a small town. I did not continue to throw my knowledge at him and just let him process and moved on. I still can’t forget this to this day that this Christian with a dad as a ‘preacher’ did not understand this basic concept, fundamental to his religion. Wow

EDIT here but preserved the original instead of editing it. I know full well that the name “Jesus” or “Jesus Christ” was not used in the messianic prophecies. But he purposefully fulled some of them such as riding the donkey through the west gate, etc. Just wanted to clarify that.

The point, of course, is that for somebody not to understand the genesis of Christianity was from Judaism and the messianic prophesies was a shock to me. I mean, there is a very real distinction between the old and new testament that Christians certainly understand. I realize today that many, if not most people do not really grasp or care to understand the real history behind their religions. But this was beyond the pale.
Many in America think that Trump is the Second Coming - the New Jesus - and sorry, but really - how dumb can you possibly be, and also to assume Jesus was a Christian. How dumb are these people.

Women were subdugated in Biblical times, much as they are in many islamic countries today.
Jesus, if he was real, hung out with other men - as they do today - and don't tell me there is nothing a little gay about that... Jesus and God does not judge us for being gay - S/He does not judge us - PERIOD.
Small minded scared men cast the first stone and yet have the most to actually hide.
