Families turned away from Christmas dinners as 'chaos' erupts at British pub

Families were left fuming and had to go without their Christmas dinner after they arrived at a pub only to be met with pandemonium. They were told that the pub was simply unable to keep up with orders and were closing on the big day.

One group explained that upon arriving for lunch at the White Horse in Balsall Common, not far from Birmingham, they were told by other customers that the restaurant had shut its doors. It was also appearing to turn punters away, leaving dozens of people out of pocket.

When the V&A’s record-breaking exhibition David Bowie Is opened in March 2013, Bowie was not to be found at the private view and dinner. But eventually, he, his wife Iman, their daughter, Lexi, and long-serving PA Coco Schwab headed to London and visited early on the morning of Sunday, July 7. They were given a private tour by one of the curators, Victoria Broackes, who would later say that Bowie was “sincerely moved by the experience”, and that he spent about an hour and a half wandering around, looking at his life spread out before him.


Welsh council sparks fury after 97-year-old given just a fortnight to pay £23,000 care fees

Jane James, 65, and her 97-year-old mother Rita Stewart endured what Mrs James described as "18 months of hell" after selling Ms Stewart's property in 2022.

The £76,000 proceeds helped purchase a home for Ms Stewart's grandson and his young family.

Following a stroke, Ms Stewart entered care, prompting Pembrokeshire council to accuse the family of deliberately hiding assets.
