Man gets revenge on neighbour who complains about Union Jack flag in garden

Story by Lauran O'Toole & Danielle Kate Wroe

A man who was forced to take a Union Jack flag down from his garden after a neighbour's complaint has got his own back.

'Market man' Colin, hoisted the flag out of love for his country but faced pressure to take it down after a neighbour lodged a complaint with the council.

When quizzed about the dispute, the bloke, who poses wearing a suit covered in Union Jacks on his TikTok profile, said: "It's what people do these days; they complain about everything."

I have a flag pole on order for Hamilton Hall and various flags to fly from it and if the neighbours do not like the Union Jack, then tough shit.

Because they are already AHEAD of the US, duh!

Yours is a backwards nation that can't even use metric measurements.

You don't have universal healthcare.

Right wing Christian fundamentalists have virtually banned abortion, your social welfare is a medieval joke, your banking is old-school and cumbersome, your printed currency is still fabric-paper, your education is laughable, your workplace relations are draconian, most electricity in the home is 110 volts and your style of nationalism fell out of favour in Europe 80 years ago.

You are ahead in national debt, obesity, corporate control of private citizens, ignorance, arrogance Red Necks full of intolerance. You also voted for a corrupt megalomaniac who is destroying your economy while claiming to be MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, while systomatically bankrupting thousands of American business like Boeing and your car industry and who lies and never tells the truth.

You go around this planet as if you owned the damned place and act with such arrogance as if we are all beholden to you - and for what ? We don't envy you. We are not jealous of you.

We don't even like you very muh - especially these days.

You sow what you reap and you chose Trump.

You can keep those and be proud. No one else would be but you do you.

An Egyptian tomb contains the first gay love story recorded in history

The visual of men embracing has sparked outrage throughout history, across land and sea. Wherever evidence of homosexuality has been found in any culture, controversy—and often fatal danger—soon followed. Despite this, gay men worldwide have continually chosen to risk their lives for each other.

But there’s evidence to suggest that gayness might once have been revered, at least enough to inspire a tomb fit for Ancient Egyptian royalty.

Six things to remember when coming out as LGBTQ+ to your family

Story by Sophie Perry

Coming out to your family can be daunting.

When I was 13, I realised I was bisexual and wanted to share this with my family. In my head, everything was simple: I liked girls and boys the same and that was OK. But what was terrifying was that I couldn’t recall ever having a conversation about gay people with my family, so I’d never been able to gauge their feelings or opinions on the subject.

The 20 most influential TV shows of all time

by Thomas West

Television as a popular art form has certainly grown and changed a great deal since it first began to rise to prominence in the 1950s. Much of this growth can be attributed to those series, whether dramas or comedies, which took chances and, as a result, changed audience expectations.  These shows remain beloved, sometimes decades after they left the air. As a result, they show the extent to which TV as a medium is always in flux, always finding new, exciting, and challenging ways to bring the human story to life.

9 huge TV shows that could never be made today

Story by Sophie-May Williams

There's no nice way of saying this: some TV shows just have not aged well. From basing an entire concept around diet culture and body shaming to airing - and then publicly mocking - people's personal lives for ratings, nowadays they wouldn't even make it past the first pitch stages. Seriously, some of these shows are so un-PC that they've been pulled from major streaming platforms due to mass complaints. Intrigued as to which titles would never have been given the green light today?

Trump threatens to revoke US comedian's citizenship

Donald Trump has said he is considering "taking away" the US citizenship of actress and comedian Rosie O'Donnell, despite a Supreme Court ruling that expressly prohibits a government from doing so.

Of all the scared things this man can do is to try and throw an American citizen out of the country because she disagrees with him. What a coward, what a piece of shit he is. SHE'S AN AMERICAN - HE CANNOT THROW HER OUT - besides he cannot as that act alone is illegal - even for King Trump.

( Oh pass me the barf bag... )

'Make chickens miserable again': Trump's California feud taken to 'ridiculous new level'

Story by Adam Lynch

“Donald Trump has taken his feud with California to a ridiculous new level by suing us for being too nice to chickens,” Finucane writes. “Apparently, his administration believes we coddle our egg-laying hens by allowing them to occasionally take a break from their duties — maybe stand up and spread their wings — rather than confining them in cages where they can barely budge.”

The White House posted an image of Trump as Superman - here’s how the internet responded

ree

Story by Joe Sommerlad

The White House posted a meme depicting Donald Trump as Superman, seemingly to capitalise on the buzz surrounding a new film about the DC Comics character. The image showed Trump in Superman's iconic costume, accompanied by the caption "THE SYMBOL OF HOPE. TRUTH. JUSTICE. THE AMERICAN WAY. SUPERMAN TRUMP."

The post was met with widespread mockery and criticism on social media, with California Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia remarking that Trump is "literally Lex Luthor."

It is hard not to laugh and shout - ' NURSE - NURSE - HE'S OUT OF BED AGAIN...' if it wasn't so pathetic.

I think that Trump speaks almost exclusively in con-man cliches - when he speaks coherently at all. It makes me itch, and one of the most baffling questions in the universe is why it doesn’t make everyone itch.

It’s such obvious bullshit.

If someone came door-to-door selling some doohickey and told you:

“I’ve sold a million of these. A million at least. And I get calls all the time. Great calls. Perfect calls. Everyone’s telling me - I mean, lifechanging, that’s what they say to me when they call. Actual tears. It’s disgusting. They don’t know how they managed without it. Just the other day someone sent me a ham. Isn’t that incredible? A whole ham, and all I did was sell this to them. They were so grateful. And I… the other guys selling… they don’t get hams. I get hams. I get them all the time, because… what I sell is the best. That’s what everyone is saying. I meet these guys and they’re selling… they ask me about the hams, and I tell them.”

Would you buy that doohickey?

Because seventy-odd million people heard basically that and thought “That’s my president right there.”
