Opinion: What I fear if Prince Andrew is driven out altogether

Story by Peter Hitchens For The Daily MaiL
You can say anything about Prince Andrew except 'leave him alone'. Well, that is my advice. Leave him alone. That's enough. First, if you are going to damn someone for his private life, be sure your own is spotless. As a clever man once said: 'Man is conceived in sin and born in corruption and he passeth from the stink of the nappy to the stench of the shroud. There is always something.' This is the motto of a corrupt Louisiana politician in Robert Penn Warren's great novel All The King's Men, and it turns out to be terribly true of one of the most seemingly admirable figures in the book. It is one of the reasons why, these days, I prefer to turn away from these outbreaks of righteousness.

Disney dumps BBC Doctor Who deal after ‘woke’ rebrand falls flat

Story by James Warrington
Disney has pulled out of its Doctor Who partnership with the BBC after just two series following what critics called the show’s “woke” rebrand. The US streaming giant has confirmed it will not be involved in the next series of the sci-fi favourite following reports of lacklustre viewing figures.
JB COMMENTS: The last series I watched of Dr. Who with the new black guy in the part, was awful. The scrips were so woke and the whole thing so appallingly - just - bad - it made it unwatchable. Cringe worthy. What have they done, the BBC, an epic programme like bake Off - Top gear and now they fuck up Dr. Who. Think the BBC needs to have a fat reassesment of what and who they appeal to.

The 'real reason' so many supermarkets in the UK have clock towers
Story by Lotti OBrien

Many supermarkets across the UK are all linked by the niche design of a clock tower. An architectural rule laid out in 1970 meant nearly all stores built pre-2000 have the decorative feature, as well as a barn-like structure. The clock rule can be accredited to one particular branch of Asda in a town in Essex. Supermarkets were imported from the US post war as a fairly new innovation, with the earliest builds being extremely unattractive, However, during the mid-1970's, a design rule put an end to the unpleasant, functional buildings.

Though unlike many other cancers, testicular cancer mostly affects a wide younger population: white males aged between 15 and 35.
In this gallery, we look at the causes, symptoms, and treatment options for testicular cancer, as well as the prognosis of recovery. Click on to learn all about it.

Trial starts in $40M lawsuit filed by a teacher who was shot by a 6-year-old student
Story by John Raby
A former assistant principal at a Virginia elementary school ignored multiple warnings that a 6-year-old student had a gun in the hours before he shot his teacher, an attorney for the teacher said Tuesday as trial opened in the woman's $40 million lawsuit.
Good Riddance… You foolish arrogant twat.
Charles III has probably wanted to do this for decades. He was relatively powerless while his mother was still alive. Andrew and his mother, the late Queen, had a close relationship, and it would have caused her too much pain to banish her son. The King is known to be slow at making decisions. He works like a fiend but is not an efficient manager like his mother was. As the cliche about Charles III goes, he dithers and takes his time making up his mind, which can be a disadvantage in a position requiring swift action and clear orders. Nevertheless, he has taken strong action today.
King Charles III has been held back until now. Firstly, there was the matter of his deeply respected mother. Even after her death it could look insensitive or petty and perhaps only highlight the family's dysfunction to suddenly discipline Andrew. Later, perhaps, with so much going on—such as a number of cancer diagnoses in the family in 2024, including Fergie's—dealing irrevocably with Andrew may have seemed better to postpone. Andrew had just settled embarrassingly out of court with his sexual abuse accuser with his mother's money. Other methods of neutralizing the toxicity of Andrew were regrettably tried.
The King today has justifiably laid down the law with his arrogant and foolish brother. The Palace announced that we should henceforth call the King's brother "Andrew Mountbatten Windsor" and that Andrew is no longer a prince.
Since the 1980s and probably well before, Charles III watched his stupid-acting and entitled brother in action. In hindsight, Andrew's dishonorable behavior in financial matters (in cahoots with Fergie) and attitude of entitlement was what (the then) Prince Charles was alluding to stopping when he said he wanted a "slimmed down" monarchy that works for the people and not itself. His patience with the eyesore of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson's spendthrift ways and sleazy brown-nosing with morally corrupt rich people and foreigners has long been depleted.
Andrew and Fergie now need to be exiled to the Persian Gulf with Spain's King Emeritus Juan Carlos I. Neither has to my knowledge earnestly acknowledged the extent to which they damaged—and needlessly so—the image and trust of Britons in their royal family. Until they take full-blooded punishments or show some miraculous changes in behavior, their presence in any area of royal life undermines its promise of public service rather than self-profit.
It is interesting, though sad, to see the reports suggesting Prince William had to threaten to remove Andrew's daughters' titles to get Andrew to even agree to cooperate with the King's decision to move him out of Royal Lodge and remove his title as the Duke of York.
It is past time for Andrew to be banished. He has appeared unwilling to accept responsibility for his scandals and the accusations against him. It seems not within his arrogant character to be able to do so.
