Summer is the UK’s best-loved season. It’s easy to see why, with the warmer, sunnier weather it brings. But the temperature isn’t the only reason people prefer midsummer to the dark days of winter. Many also report their mood is better during the warmer months.
Europe’s dangerous heat wave is moving east
Parts of Western Europe were starting to cool off yesterday, as the extreme heat that has gripped the continent moved east. Forecasters warned of dangerous temperatures in Central Europe, including Slovakia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. See maps of the heat wave.
The high temperatures, coupled with drought conditions, have fueled wildfires in Spain and elsewhere. Four deaths were reported in Spain. On the Greek island of Crete, about 1,500 people, many of them tourists, were evacuated from hotels and homes as firefighters battled a blaze.
MEANWHILE - Here in the UK we are enjoying a wonderful sunny period with days spent in the garden sunbathing naked and the world here in the UK is doing just fine, no water shortages -yet - no drought conditions - yet - and personally, I love this heat wave. Too hot or too cold, some people can never stop complaining about the weather and maybe they just need to 'get a life.'
Pro-drag queen church kicks cops out of their parking lot, sends them $10K invoice for parking
The pro-LGBTQ+ church said that they'd use the money for "legal services for immigrants."
A pro-LGBTQ+ church in Florida that made headlines for having drag queens deliver a sermon just slapped their local sheriff’s office with a bill for $10,000 for parking vehicles in the church parking lot.
The Allendale United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg posted an image of the invoice on their Facebook. The invoice says that it’s for “unauthorized use of private church parking lot beginning at 6:00 AM. 13 vehicles occupying 17 parking spots. Disruption to community access, operations, and congregational use of property.”

Cannabis is worse for society than heroin and must be changed to a class A drug, police chiefs say. Fourteen top cops have written to the policing minister Diane Johnson calling for weed to be upgraded. They warn the effects of dope “may be far worse” than heroin.
And they say “we cannot allow this to become the Britain of the future”. The damning letter said: “Heroin can kill quickly but the cumulative effect of cannabis in our society may be far worse.”
