As a prostate cancer surgeon, this is what I wish every man knew about the disease

Story by Professor Prabhakar Rajan

Of all the health conditions facing men as they get older, there is no doubt that prostate cancer is the most widely discussed, emotive and challenging. It is also fairly controversial, given the National Screening Committee’s recent recommendation not to implement a national screening programme for the disease. And I should know. As a London-based consultant urologist and robotic surgeon at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) and Barts Health, I specialise in researching prostate cancer and treating men with the disease, so have been on the frontline of combating this increasingly common condition.

Conspiracy theorists claim Epstein files prove Ellen DeGeneres is the “most prolific cannibal”

A quick explainer on how the former talk show queen got dragged into Epstein conspiracy theories.

Maybe the only thing more exhausting than sitting through President Donald Trump’s entire nearly two-hour State of the Union message on Tuesday night is keeping up with the Epstein files, which unsurprisingly weren’t mentioned in the marathon speech. Trump didn’t have to: The networks and social media were awash in accusations ahead of his entrance to the House of Representatives that Pam Bondi’s Justice Department redacted mentions of accusations against Trump involving a 14-year-old girl. The grim look on Trump‘s face and his family in the gallery — and the panicked smile plastered on Bondi’s face throughout the endless address — was all the mention required.

Burger King Called Out Over Dystopian New AI Program That Tracks If Workers Sound 'Friendly' Enough

ByJohn CurtisMar 02, 2026

Fast food giant Burger King might be the home of the Whopper, but there's another patty that has earned the burger chain a fair amount of unwanted attention.

The patty in question is an AI chatbot named, you guessed it, "Patty," intended to improve the customer experience at the chain's franchises. Part of a new web and app platform called BK assist, Patty's main goal is to offer training and support for Burger King staff. This includes helping staff members remember ingredients to limited time menu offerings and alerting them if an item is no longer available.

Farage: I will ban foreigners from voting in Britain

by Camilla Turner

Nigel Farage has called for Commonwealth citizens to be banned from voting in British elections.

The Reform UK leader said that only naturalised British citizens should be allowed to vote, while residents from Pakistan, India, and other nations should lose the privilege. The current rules allow Commonwealth citizens to register and vote if they meet residency or leave-to-remain conditions.

But Mr Farage argued that this undermined national sovereignty and led to elections being fought on international issues rather than domestic ones. His claim followed reports of illegal family voting in the Gorton and Denton by-election, which are being assessed by police.

Real reason Prince William wanted Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor out of royal family

Story by Lauren Welch

Prince William was reportedly keen to get Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor "banished" from the Royal Family for one major reason. The 43-year-old, who is said to have never been close to his disgraced uncle, reportedly wanted to get rid of Andrew since his disastrous interview for BBC's Newsnight in 2019.

Behind his smile, Sammy Davis Jr. hid a twisted life

Story by Byron Fast

The World’s Greatest Entertainer

American writer James Baldwin believed that Sammy Davis Jr had a simple choice in life: He had to decide between greatness and madness. Baldwin believed he chose greatness—but by the end of his life, if you'd been at one of his salacious, drug-fueled bacchanales, you'd have to admit: More than a little madness leaked in too. Sammy Davis Jr was born to perform. Born to Elvera Sanchez, a chorus line dancer at the Apollo in Harlem, and Sammy Davis Sr, a lifetime dancer and vaudevillian, little Sammy hit the spotlight before he could walk. His parents thrust him onto the Vaudeville stage when he was just a toddler. He could barely speak, but audiences loved it when he made faces. They were the ultimate show-business family—but they wouldn't remain a family for long.

Fury in pretty UK town as owners of little beach huts slapped with £5k second home tax

Story by Aditi Rane

Richard Harris stands on the sand at Mudeford Spit, hands in his pockets, looking out at the grey winter sea. In a few days, he will turn 76, and for nearly four decades, this narrow strip of Dorset coastline has been part of his family's life. "I bought it in 1988," he says, nodding towards his beach hut, a modest blue timber cabin perched on the sand. "I can't remember the exact price, but it was between £10,000 and £15,000. We just stuck it on the mortgage."

( JB ADDS - These days these huts sell for anything between £3 - £500,000 each and then you have to pay full Council Tax on a beach hut with no mains power etc... )

Pope Leo says LGBTQ+ doctrine won’t change anytime soon: “I have nothing more to add on this point”

“I must confess that the issue remains in the background of my thoughts,” the first American pontiff says in a new book. A new biography of Pope Leo XIV, out this spring, includes an extensive interview with the first American pontiff, and he’s not very bullish on change when it comes to the Vatican’s stance on LGBTQ+ issues in the Church. “It seems to me very unlikely, at least in the near future, that the doctrine of the Church will change its teachings on sexuality and marriage,” he explained in Leo XIV: The Biography, as told to Vatican journalist Elise Ann Allen.

You make, and take, from the news that which you wish to see and hear. You observe what you want and comment of things that affect you personally. If you don't like something, do not read it and move on but do not shy away from what IS going on in the world of which - you are a part. World news is so easy to find these days and differing opinions not hard to find. Having an opinion is vital and being a ' don't care' person helps no one. So open your mind - open your heart - open your awareness and ALWAYS be open to new ideas.
