Creative justice

In January 1973, a 25-year-old session singer named Clare Torry walked into Abbey Road Studios for what she thought was just another gig.
Pink Floyd was finishing
The Dark Side of the Moon,
and engineer Alan Parsons asked her to improvise vocals over an unfinished track called The Great Gig in the Sky.
Clare asked, “What do you want me to sing?”
The band basically said: “Feel it. No words. Just emotion.”
She got paid £30. Standard session fee.

And her name didn’t even appear on the album. Her name was not included in the original album credits, with royalties going solely to Richard Wright, who composed the music.
Finally, in 2004, over 30 years later, she sued for songwriting credit, arguing that her improvised melody was a creative composition. Pink Floyd settled out of court, and from 2005 onward, the credits officially read:
“The Great Gig in the Sky – Music by Richard Wright & Clare Torry.”
A long-overdue victory.
So the soaring voice that made a cosmic masterpiece finally got the recognition it deserved.

That’s unfortunate to hear !

To answer your concerns, you’ll be pleased to hear that many UK cities possess large international airports. The ones surrounding London— our capital city — have frequent flights to and from sub-Saharan Africa. Some of our larger ports also provide passenger ship routes, most are likely to be intra-European lines, but there will be a few that service intercontinental routes, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility one may service an African port.
Likewise due to ingenuity and foresight of some of our older engineers, designers, constructions crews, etc, in collaboration with their French counterparts, the Channel Tunnel was created, which provides the British isles with a rail link to the Eurasian landmass. Using this route, you may be able to secure any number of routes to a short ferry crossig to Africa-proper, and then continue on, as I understand that European colonial powers left plenty of railway infrastructure on that continent before they left.
By following any one of these routes, you may leave behind these things which you find onerous and find yourself again in a place with a climate, landscape, people, culture and food you find more to your liking.
Safe journey. :)
