Trump has been announcing a Golden Dome that he wants to install as a shield over North America for protection from missiles from the sky. He announced—without Canada’s permission or agreement—that Canada was in on it and helping the US on this. Not until now has he announced that without Canada he can’t do it.
Canada would need to play a pivotal role in Trump’s signature, potentially $500 billion effort to build the so-called Golden Dome, according to U.S. officials and experts, with Ottawa providing radars and airspace needed to track incoming missiles in the Arctic. He sent a bipartisan delegation to Ottawa to talk with Prime Minister Mark Carney about it.
I’m asking: How is this Golden Dome different from the over-the-horizon radar system Canada just bought from Australia? This radar system is for NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) and it is put into the Arctic to detect missiles coming over the horizon. It can see far beyond the horizon. Australia said the US had been going to buy it but that the US had backed out due to cutting military expenses.
The article mentions this, saying:
The U.S. could also beef up a defense shield with radars Ottawa is already producing. Canada, during Carney’s first week in office, signed a landmark $4 billion pact with Australia in March for a long-range radar built by British-based BAE systems. Canada plans to put these radars in the Arctic and use them as part of NORAD.
So we’ll see how Carney responds. The most interesting point in all this, after months of repeating daily that the US doesn’t need Canada and doesn’t need anything Canada has, Donald Trump is now seeking Canada’s help. In the words of the article:

But Mark Carney says:

Prior to that, he has been talking almost daily with this or that leader of nations around the world. On top of this, according to the article, the Canadian government does not believe in “shooting down missiles.” The Golden Dome’s job is to shoot down missiles.
But if Canada doesn’t help, it will be very difficult for the US to instal the Golden Dome. Donald Trump NEEDS Canada in order to make his dream come true.

Maybe, just maybe, you should pull your head out of your a$$ long enough to realize that it is your orange moron that has started all of this. His insults, his complete disrespect, his threats to take us over (an act of war in and of itself), his goals of destroying our economy.

We have more than 100 other countries that are willing to boycott the US (not a long step) in favour of trading with a peaceful trustworthy nation (yes, Canada). You’re losing friends in droves, and we’re gaining them. While we will have some short term pain, it will fade rather quickly, yet your pain will just continue to grow as your idiot in chief makes more and more enemies.
The problem for you is that you have no clue as to what is happening as he buddies up to Putin, Kim, and other dictators, creating a country that is run by billionaires. And billionaires don’t give a rat’s a$$ about you or anyone else that doesn’t have 9 ‘0’s in their personal worth.

Now he doesn’t need your support because he’s got the next 4 years to rape the country, tear up the constitution, and remain in power until he dies. Plus he wants to fire Natasha Bertrand for reporting on the FACT that the bunker buster bombs could not “obliterate” their targets. Fake news, he claims, yet again.
Again this repulsive being accuses others of disrespecting the pilots. Donald, you creep, stop trying to subtly direct blame onto the pilots. THE PILOTS DID THE JOB YOU ORDERED THEM TO DO. THEY FLEW IN, THEY HIT THE TARGETS BANG ON, AND THEY FLEW OUT. IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT YOUR WEAPONS WEREN'T UP TO IT, AND THAT THE FORTIFICATIONS WERE STRONGER THAN ANTICIPATED. That’s all on your head, Donald. The pilots did their job and did it well.
So stop doing this reverse psychology shit , pretending this outrage on the pilots behalf. We know exactly what you’re doing, once again trying to direct blame onto others. Nobody was even thinking of blaming the pilots til you suggested it.

Aussie here - so lets have a crack at this shall we.
Yes trump can fuck off - hit us with 200% tariff. Fuck it make it interesting make it 1000%. We don’t pay the tariffs when it hits the US anyway. As for the US markets - there are 191 other countries out there we can do extra trade with. China is a great trading partner - they stopped buying chemically treated, fake US beef and started buying Aussie beef.
So annexing us? Nah ain't going to happen either. We are too far away to make it here without being noticed. Plus the joint facility at Pine Gap in the Northern Territory is currently shared between Australia and the US. How are they going to do anything if they get locked out of here and arrested? And then to go up against the Commonwealth, ohh hang on and look at that our ally is the UK and Canada - both NATO countries. So you can bring in NATO as well. The UK would then likewise withdraw (haha sorry REMOVE) the US personnel from RAF Menwith Hill. Those 2 stations - Pine Gap & Menwith Hill - cover 2/3s of the world for intelligence gathering & communication monitoring.
The US is currently stretched so thin on the ground with all the fuck arsery around they are contributing to around the world they haven't got the numbers for it.
And thats even BEFORE you get the pissed off locals and the wildlife.
Remember Japan tried it in WW2 and realised very early on that it wasnt financially viable to do it and they are a hell of a lot closer than the US.
So is it over for us?

Please don’t trouble yourself - we fully understand how difficult it is when people come from a country much less developed and cringe with embarassment when they realise just how far behind they are.
I think it’s hardest of all for those people who think that their country is a ‘first world’ country and find it actually to be so far behind that it would in many ways rank amongst third world countries. In some countries (I really don’t want to name names, but I’m sure you’ll work it out) the public think that their schools are, for example, ahead of ours but when they immigrate to the UK they find out that their children are at least a year and more often two years behind.
People from those same places realise for the first time what ‘clean food’ is - how they can eat food that’s not liberally laced with additives and a great deal of sugar …. simply because their government is only interested in putting money into the pockets of those who elect them!
They also find that we are free to cross a road (except motorways) wherever we want …. and indeed our children grow up learning to cross first small roads and then gradually bigger ones - entirely safely - as they grow older.
They find that they can send their children to school entirely safely without any fear that they will be shot at their desks.
They find that women are in control of their own bodies and what can happen to them!
They find that whilst we do have free speech hate speech is wisely banned, as it is seen to foment unrest and great unpleasantness.
They find that we have an excellent National Health Service which provides treatment free at source to everyone - even those from other countries in an emergency!
And they find that we have a great sense of humour - and indeed of the utterly ridiculous (although we are a little prone to sarcasm from time to time and much of our humour goes right over most Americans heads as it truly is too sophisticated for them;- full of irony and pathos and this, sadly, Many Americans simply do not get. ).
So wherever you’re from - please visit and enjoy yourself; we certainly won’t hold against you the fact that your country is relatively ‘backward’ in comparison, and we will make you welcome here!

I am always amazed and a bit outraged the way so many Aericans assume they rule the world and anywhere else is a third world nation. Can I remind those dumb ass people that Europe has a culture that FAR outdates the USA by several thousand years.
Even here, Christchurch Priory is over a thousand years old and America:- don't get me started :- is like a baby in the pram compared to Europe and yet they seem to think they know better in everything.
It makes the 95% of the world population outside of the USA look at the USA and cringe with embarrasment at the state of the cuntry compared to Europe.
Europe has style. Europe has sophistication. Europe has class.
America strives for these and - sadly - shoots itself in the foot every time and just seems to miss the mark and instead, shows the world the worst of itself over and over again. We want to include America in the world - we want to love America, but only when it stops being the worlds bully and learns they are not superior or above anyone else , and in fact, could learn a LOT from other nations if it managed to get its head out of its own ass.
