If only there were something funny.
As more and more horrifying stories come out of the USA of tourists being subjected to horrendous treatment in shackles by ICE AGENTS - INNOCENT TOURISTS HARASSED - is it any wonder countries are warnng its people to STAY AWAY FROM AMERICA - as their tourist trade collapses, tens of thousands of venues like hotels, cafes, beach places - close because of lack of tourists, and where TRUMP IS TO BLAME .

I am a (British) retiree living on my pension savings. Which have decreased in value by 14% in less than two months. Mostly since “Liberation Day” this month (now that is, almost, laughable).
So the income on those investments has also declined. This affects me feeding my family. This is now personal.

And yes I am using a US platform right now. Think of a French resistance fighter tripping over a cache of German weapons. It would be rude to ignore it.
But I will indeed ignore Starbucks and McDonalds and Gibson, Fender and Taylor guitars and amplifiers.
My next phone and laptop will be made in Korea. Or China. It’s a shit look wearing American now. And millions of Europeans are doing the same. Look at Tesla sales… but that’s just the start.
Trump has utterly destroyed alliances going back to 1914, if not longer.
For no fucking reason whatsoever. And even if he (I won’t dignify him with a name, or title) were impeached tomorrow, it will be decades before America is forgiven for what they have done in just 100 days.
If ever. And only after they beg for forgiveness on bended knee.
I know there are decent Americans, some I still call friends.
But “America”? I don’t laugh at it. I despise it, and everything it now stands for.
EDIT: A small but significant snippet. All 537 KFC and Pizza Hut outlets in Turkey have gone bankrupt. At least partly attributed to the boycott movement. Turkey is a Muslim country, where people feel pretty strongly about the Trump administration’s naked racism. The bankruptcy is partly attributed to American policy over Gaza.

John: I am originally from Bournemouth, Dorset. Moved to Kissimmee in Florida more than 30 years ago now and love Florida life. Recently it has gone to shit. The Governor is a rabit Trump bigot. Trump as well is destroying the USA. My pension has been reduced by 20% so far. Most my other investments have lost up to 35% due to various boycotts of companies. Life here is going right down the drain and sadly, I cannot afford to return to the UK. There are many X Pats from the UK here and many feel the same. Besides, I am in my late 70's and with health problems, the move would just be too stressful. So I have to keep my big mouth shut as there are a lot of Trump followers with guns. It is like a civil war between Trumpers and Non Trumpers. The cuntry is going to the dogs and the only place I can see it going from here on in, is down. Even if Trump is replaced, no one is ging to trust the USA ever again.
I read your piece about the Parliament House Gay Resort local to me here and which has sadly now closed. It was quite a place alright.

I’m English and met an American girl whilst I was in Toronto. We got speaking small talk and then she remarked on what good English I spoke. It took a few seconds for the penny to drop with me what she was on about until I realised you she didn’t think English was my native tongue. So the conversation went like:
Her: You speak very good English.
Me: What language do you think people in England speak?
Her: I don’t know.
Me: Have a guess, the clue is in my country’s name, England.
Her: I don’t know, is it French?
I’ve repeated that story a few times over the years, it always tickles me and gets a laugh.

only one, out of over 30 women, actually answered with
' What a stupid question of course we need maths taught in schools.' ALL THE REST said some ditsy thing like
' Hell no, we have calculators so why teach maths ? '
EVERY SINGLE WOMEN - ONLY ONE THUGHT IT A STUPID QUESTION AND ALL THE REST THOUGHT MATHS WAS NOT NEEDED IN SCOOLS.
No wonder it's such a dumb shit country run by hillbillies who believe the bullshit lies of Donald Jessica Trump.

As an American, I am DISGUSTED … by the fact that we have created a scenario where visitors are genuinely afraid of visiting America. Even though I work in the travel industry, if someone from overseas were to ask about visiting, I would say “not right now!” Between visiting professors being detained and then deported and German girls who are college age on a round-the-world trip being detained in deplorable conditions before being deported for highly debatable reasoning, it isn’t worth the risk and quite frankly, we don’t deserve visitors when we treat them like that.
I’ve been nauseated by the way our border people have treated visitors for YEARS (if I, as a white male American citizen, have been treated rudely by Customs/Immigration guards at airports and land-crossings, I can only imagine how they have treated foreigners (and these were incidents that happened BEFORE Trump II).

This is the most horrifying MAGA regime story yet..According to local TV station KFOR, roughly 20 federal agents — including ICE officers, U.S. Marshals, and FBI agents — raided the wrong house in Oklahoma City and told the woman inside, identified as "Marisa," that they had a search warrant. In reality, the suspects named in the warrant didn't live in the house.
Not only that, but they weren't connected to anyone in the family.This is whats happens when you mix weaponized incompetency with ruthless fascism. Donald Trump and his minions are as stupid as they are cruel."We just moved here from Maryland. We’re citizens. That’s what I kept saying. We’re citizens," said Marisa.The feds barged into the house, ransacked it, and forced the family outside in their underwear, displaying the kind of callousness and inhumanity we have come to expect from this administration. They seized the family's belongings, calling it "evidence."
Since the warrant was invalid for the house, it really just amounted to governmental theft."I told them before they left, I said you took my phone. We have no money. I just moved here. I have to feed my children," said Marissa. "I’m going to need gas money. I need to be able to get around. Like, how do you just leave me like this? Like an abandoned dog.”"They were very dismissive, very rough, very careless,” she continued. "I kept pleading. I kept telling them we weren’t criminals.

The agents told her that it might take days or even months for the family's belongings to be returned. They refused to give her a business card
