Prue Leith opens up on why she quit The Great British Bake Off

Story by Lauren Del Fabbro

Dame Prue Leith has revealed her decision to depart from The Great British Bake Off stems from a desire to "work less and play more". The announcement last week confirmed her departure as a judge after nine series, during which she oversaw more than 400 challenges. Dame Prue joined the popular Channel 4 baking competition in 2017 following its move from the BBC, and will be succeeded by acclaimed TV cook and author Nigella Lawson.

'They focused on him being gay': Family accuse police of failures after student found dead in hotel

The family of Ed Cornes, a 19-year-old gay student found dead in a London hotel, say police failures — driven by homophobia — meant the circumstances of his death were never properly investigated.

Ed was just two days into his first term at University College London when he died in October 2021.

Nearly four years on, his mother, Miriam Blythe, says she still has questions over how or why he died — and she has no confidence in the Metropolitan Police or its handling of the case.

While labels list dozens of possible risks only four are supported by evidence, say researchers

Statins have been used by hundreds of millions of people worldwide over the last three decades and are proven to reduce heart attacks, strokes and cardiovascular deaths. At the same time, millions have been put off the drugs amid long-running safety concerns, with statin labels listing dozens of possible side-effects.

Andrew's problems just got even worse - King Charles only has 1 option left

Story by Chris Riches

"I think Andrew is an absolute disgrace - we live among the royals and everyone is very respectful of that," one jogger near the shamed ex-Duke's new Marsh Farm home told the Express last week. Her angry view was not an outlier - most residents in the sleepy Norfolk village of Wolferton were seething when we visited to ask their views on their soon-to-be-new resident.

Andrew's five cruellest staff moments from 'personal insults to creepy bed rule'

Story by Jasmine Carey

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has not been a working royal for some time; however, there are plenty of ex-royal staff members who have memories of working for him. While some of his former staff members may have enjoyed working for the ex-prince, there seems to be plenty of people who don't share this same view.

Pope orders angel's face scrubbed from church fresco after spotting Trump ally

The Roman diocese, led by Pope Leo XIV, has ordered a church to alter an angel's face painted on a fresco that bears a close resemblance to one of President Donald Trump's closest European allies. An Italian newspaper reported over the weekend that a newly restored fresco at Rome's Basilica of San Lorenzo in Lucina included an angel whose updated face appeared to resemble Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, although artist Bruno Valentinetti denied that was his intention and the parish priest defended the work, reported The Daily Beast.

Nicki Minaj calls Trevor Noah gay after he brutally mocked her at the Grammys

Noah got the audience at the Grammys to applaud Minaj’s absence. She’s not happy, and Trump is threatening to sue.

When Karens cross the line... but there are cameras

These Karens didn’t just complain, they went way too far. From blocking traffic and chasing people through stores to calling the police over nothing, every meltdown was caught on camera. Some accused strangers of crimes, others tried to control public spaces. Watching this feels unreal, but it all really happened.

Those who receive benefits like Personal Independence Payments or Universal Credit are always required to inform the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) about any changes in their circumstances, which include the country you're staying in.

This Trump claim is so absurd it deserves only absurdity in reply

In his recent Davos speech to world leaders in Switzerland, President Donald Trump chastised European countries for falling for the climate-change hoax and wasting billions of dollars on green-energy scams.

Trump sees himself on a crusade to disabuse the world of the greatest environmental con in history, having singlehandedly uncovered the Chinese climate-change hoax intended to undermine democratic countries’ economies. Countries around the globe began developing green-energy sources, reduced their reliance on fossil fuels, and undermined their countries’ energy stability. Now, Trump claims to be wisely moving the US in the opposite direction and taking the world with him.
