Dear John:- Sunbathing naked - I do have a spot I think/thought it's okay to strip off. I had the hedge at the end of the garden taken back in width to make it easier for me to manage and it did thin it a bit. But I thought still ok until I had a message from the neighbours about something and then ending like this "hope you're not getting too SUNBURNT in this hot weather!" So, maybe I may have been wrong in my assumption!

GET YOUR KIT OFF AND GET OUT IN THE GARDEN
The police were called on me for being naked in my own back gaden.
Seems the neighbour could see me if she stood on a chair in her bedroom window. I pointed out I was on private property, behind a high fence and if she has to stand on a chair indoors to see me, and is doing so, then I told the police I wanted her arrested for spying into my garden and then complaining about what she saw.
She was not arrested and I was not cautioned but the police did go next door and talk with her and told that if this happens again charges could be placed against her for wasting police time and she was told as long as I was behind secure screening and other than standing on a hair to deliberatel see me - I had every right to be naked and if she wasted their time again, she would be charged - and that was the end of that - Within a year, she moved and the new neighbours are wonderful. I have an allotment. Been mine for over 30 years. It's very private and concealed from anywhere looking. I go naked there a lot and no one notices or says a lot. I grow all my own veg for the summer and it's wonderful when picked and eaten the same day. Naked gardening is always the best and as I get older, I don't need worry about getting an erection as it doesn't happen like it did in my youth.. Alan.

New Forest Gypsies - days of glory and misfortune
For nearly four centuries, the Romany Gypsies of the New Forest
lived as free spirits beneath the ancient canopy-until the heavy hand
of bureaucracy forced them into muddy captivity.
I am a professional full time gardener. I work for an estate in Hampshire. I was asked to help an elderly local man who had just gone into hospital for a few weeks and could I sort his garden out while he was away. Over I went on a beautiful sunny day, with my truck and all the mowers I needed etc. to a very isolated position. Took a while to even find the place. No neighbours. Nothing around. Stunning location. Really old stone cottage, hundreds of years of age set in this wilderness of a garden with apple trees and everything you can imagine a country cottage Victoria garden to have. There was even roses growing up and around the front door. Very chocolate box.
I set to work. It was hot. There was noone around so I stripped naked after a while and I thought, why the fuck not.
After a couple of hours of mowing and raking, trimming and cutting back - the garden was starting to look a bit better - and as I stood for a while checking on my progress - I had the fright of my life when someone tapped me on the shoulder - me being deaf to him approaching as the mowers were quite loud. - and I spun round to find this University student standing there in shorts and t shirt asking who I was.
I explained and apologised for being naked - and explained how as there was no one there I thought it would be okay - and sheepishly not only did the student smile broadly but actually said ' Mind if I join you then?' and instantly just stripped off his shorts and t shirt and stood there before me naked.
We chatted and he told me he was the old boys grandson and he had come over as he heard there was someone helping in the garden and he just wanted to check it out, and had been surprised and delighted to find this naked man working in the garden.
His Gradpa allowed him to come over whenever he was free to enjoy the garden and to bring friends over and stay over sometimes and while the lad was gay, Grandpa always respected his space and was non judgemental.
That afternoon more than the flower beds got laid. More of the land got plowed and many a seed panted deep into the bowels of the earth. Naked, In the sunshine. No one else around, the gardening came to an abrupt halt as we engaged in hot sweaty sex together- right there in the half mowed garden.. DBB
