What is life like living permanently on board a cruise ship?

Story by Amelia Neath

At the age of 64, Sharon Lane retired from her job as a high school language teacher. After spending nearly all her life in Los Angeles, she decided that it was time for a change. While many retirees consider downsizing or moving somewhere sunnier, Sharon instead sought out a life at sea. After a decade of searching for the right cruise ship, Sharon – now 77 years old – made her dream a reality when she purchased a cabin and set sail in June this year on the Odyssey, a Villa Vie Residences cruise that provides a permanent residence-at-sea programme as it circumnavigates the globe. The cruise, which suffered a belated start to its inaugural sailing, left Belfast last October for the first of hopefully many three-and-a-half-year-long adventures around the world, stopping at 425 ports in 147 countries during each voyage.

JB COMMENTS:- She thought she was going to be the next Princess Di. She thought she would win the hearts of the people. She thought she was going to be treated as special, royal, adoring people looking up to her and anything she touched would turn to gold and - it has not turned out that way AT ALL - and everything she has touched - is destroyed. Her very touch kills. So, is she just another Mrs. Simpson ?

Two Guys - One Bush - Doing it together helps get it done.

When Woody and I thought about getting this done, it took the whole day and the rewards were amazing.

Projections show that a general election based on Thursday’s vote share would lead to a hung parliament, with Reform the largest party, meaning Nigel Farage would very likely be the prime minister. So how has he got here and what would he do in No 10

You make, and take, from the news that which you wish to see and hear. You observe what you want and comment of things that affect you personally. If you don't like something, do not read it and move on but do not shy away from what IS going on in the world of which - you are a part. World news is so easy to find these days and differing opinions not hard to find. Having an opinion is vital and being a ' don't care' person helps no one. So open your mind - open your heart - open your awareness and ALWAYS be open to new ideas.
