“I asked an elderly man once what it was like to be old and to know the majority of his life was behind him. He told me he has been the same age his entire life. He said the voice inside of his head had never aged. He has always just been the same boy. His mother’s son. He had always wondered when he would grow up and be an old man. He said he watched his body age and his faculties dull, but the person he is inside never got tired, never aged and never changed. Our spirits are eternal. Our souls are forever.
The next time you encounter an elderly person, look at them and know that they are still a child, and children will always need love, attention and purpose.” ~Author unknown
You understanding of history is not that good. Your American hubris is showing too.
When Japan entered the modern world in the nineteenth century, it looked to the world's super power, the British Empire, from which to learn.
America was a backwater.
America only became a true super power after WWII in 1945. You also did not create the driving on the right (wrong) side of the road, that was the French. It is funny you assume that it was a US invention and the obvious choice for Japan “because America does it”. Open your mind, little one, the world has not revolved around the US for long and increasingly less so today

Security cameras caught a dog breaking into a retail store late one evening, dragging a blanket out the door. A co-worker followed the dog before closing and discovered he was carrying the blanket to an elderly homeless man.Instead of taking it back, the worker returned to the store, gathering snacks, a pillow, and even some dog food to bring to them. When the story was shared online, it quickly went viral. Donations poured in, and a GoFundMe was launched. Today, the man and his loyal dog are staying in a nearby motel while he applies for jobs, finally with warmth, food, and hope. When asked if he was upset about the missing blanket, the store owner smiled and said, “Why would I be upset? The dog did what so many humans wouldn’t, help someone in need.

A lion costs a leading AI company half a million dollars after a risky experiment.

In Africa, researchers pushed artificial intelligence to the limits by pitting their prototype robot against a lion. Before the test, the machine had been trained on hundreds of animal images and books about emotions.
He could identify joy, sadness, anger, and fear. On paper, it was flawless. But the moment the lion appeared, the system crashed. The logs only showed: “Big cat. Fear.”
Then, he failed, repeating "fear" over 100 times until he froze completely. Memory wipes didn't help.
The fear was so deep-rooted that every time the robot saw a four-legged creature, from a goat to a house cat, it responded the same way: “No. Fear.”
Engineers ultimately had to remove part of its CPU, a repair that cost the company half a million dollars and nearly eight months of work. The experiment ended with the first robot in history diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Time for a little laughter ...
You need to think around "old people". 😅
A tale from the wild, wild West ...

"An old woman walked up and tied her old mule to the hitching post.
As she stood there, brushing some of the dust from her face th a gun in one hand and a bottle of whiskey in the other.
He looked at the woman and laughed,
"Hey old woman, have you ever danced?"
The woman looked up at the gunslinger and said, "No ... I never did dance ... Never really wanted to"
A crowd has gathered as the young gunslinger grinned and said, "Well you old bag, you're gonna dance now!", and started shooting at the old woman's feet.
The old woman prospector - not wanting to have her toes blown off- started hopping around. Many were laughing.
When his last bullet was fired, the gunslinger, still laughing, holstered his gun and turned around to go back into the saloon.
The old woman turned to her pack mule, pulled out a double-barrelled shotgun and cocked both hammers. The loud clicks carried clearly through the desert air, and the crowd immediately stopped laughing.
The gunslinger heard the sounds too, and turned around very slowly. The silence was almost deafening. The crowd watched tensely as he stared at the woman and the large gaping holes of those twin barrels.
The barrels of the shotgun never wavered in her hands as she quietly said, "Son, have you ever kissed a mule's ass?"and clothes, a young gunslinger stepped out of the saloon wi
The gunslinger swallowed hard and said, "No m'am, but I've always wanted too"
THERE ARE FIVE LESSONS HERE FOR ALL OF US:
1 - Never be arrogant.
2 - Don't waste ammunition.
3 - Whiskey makes you think you're smarter than you are.
4 - Always make sure you know who has the power.
5 - Don't mess with old people; they didn't get old by being stupid."
He's absolutely capable, haven't you been paying attention?
I can't think of another individual alive or dead with the requisit skills that our Mr. Trump has been demonstrating lo these past two months.
Oh yes, he's definitely capable of running the USA into the ground.
That is what you meant, right?
JB :- I think the word is spelled RUINNING.

I had adopted her but she refused to come away with me.

It was weird because dogs can't wait to leave the kennel. She was crying and stubbing her paws. I should have dragged her. But when I looked down I understood the reason and I had to make a CHOICE "When the time came to take her home she was just out of that cage, from that moment a new world awaited her, a wonderful life and a lot of love. Any another dog would have run into the embers of her rescuers. But she did not. She stood still, sticking to all fours and refused to come out of the cage. In a corner a small Chihuahua Taco looked at her in fear. She understood that she was about to lose her her best friend. And in that moment a small miracle happened. The couple saw the whole scene and decided to adopt them both. They did the documents also for the chihuahua and all 4 went out the door of the shelter. was taken in the car, before leaving. Personally I would like to wish these two dogs a happy life full of love !. But above all so much happiness also to these two wonderful people ❤️

They are diplomats. They are largely well educated, cultured, civilized men and women who have been carefully selected by their home governments to represent their nations before the world. They take that responsibility very seriously.
The exact opposite of Trump in every way, shape and form.
They know Trump will not be here forever, no matter what he believes, and they are not going to debase themselves by recognizing the taunts and insults of a deranged old man, sexual predator, racist and fascist insurrectionist in thrall to the Kremlin as anything other than the ravings of a buffoon, even if half the America electorate thinks Trump is the perfect representative for them.
The rest of America — well educated, cultured, civilized — will be left to pick up the pieces and try to rebuild the relationship that America once had with the nations of the world once we rid ourselves of Trump, one way or the other. The longer we have to suffer through his buffoonery and the chaos it leaves in its wake, the harder that will be.

Donald Trump’s UN Speech: Why It Was Seen as a Global Embarrassment
Former U.S. President Donald Trump’s latest appearance at the United Nations General Assembly quickly turned into one of the most talked-about moments in global politics — but not for the reasons he might have hoped. His remarks, filled with self-praise, sweeping exaggerations, and controversial claims, left many world leaders stunned and foreign diplomats privately questioning America’s international image.

Trump’s “Seven Wars” Claim
In his speech, Trump boasted that he personally ended seven major wars across the globe, listing regions such as Kosovo, Rwanda, Pakistan and India, Israel and Iran, and even Egypt and Ethiopia. He declared that no other leader in history had accomplished anything comparable, and claimed he achieved all of it in just seven months.
The problem? Many of these conflicts had either de-escalated years before his presidency or were not directly resolved by U.S. intervention. Diplomats and analysts quickly pointed out that these statements were highly misleading and factually inaccurate.
Attacks on the United Nations
Instead of focusing on diplomacy, Trump used the UN stage to criticize the very institution hosting him. He mocked the UN for “not solving wars,” claiming that he had done the job himself without so much as a phone call of support from them. This combative tone struck many as undermining America’s role as a global partner, particularly at a time when international cooperation is seen as critical.
The Escalator and Teleprompter Meltdown
Trump also took time in his speech to complain about an escalator that briefly stopped while he and the First Lady were using it, as well as a malfunctioning teleprompter. “These are the two things I got from the United Nations — a bad escalator and a bad teleprompter,” he quipped. For many observers, this detour into petty grievances felt out of place at an event meant to address pressing global issues.
Climate Change Denial and “The Hat” Moment
Perhaps the most alarming section of his remarks came when Trump dismissed climate change as “the biggest con job ever perpetrated on the world.” He argued that industrialized nations should reject environmental reforms completely, a statement that drew sharp criticism from scientists and international leaders alike.

Adding to the surreal nature of the speech, Trump even bragged about merchandise from his campaign: a hat labeled “Trump was right about everything.” This reference, delivered in the context of climate change, sparked ridicule online and among diplomats in the hall.
Global Reaction: Embarrassment on the World Stage
The backlash was swift. One foreign diplomat reportedly told a Washington Post correspondent: “This man is stark, raving mad. Do Americans not see how embarrassing this is?” That sentiment was echoed across social media, where clips of the speech circulated widely, drawing both criticism and disbelief.
Why It Matters
World leaders use the UN as a platform to project strength, vision, and cooperation. Trump’s speech, however, became a case study in how rhetoric can damage credibility. Rather than uniting allies or outlining a clear policy agenda, his remarks were seen as a mix of self-congratulation and hostility.
For many, the lasting impression was not about America’s power but about its political divisions — and the uncomfortable question of how seriously the U.S. can be taken on the world stage when its leaders veer into spectacle instead of statesmanship.

Because of this guy.

With the Obama administration the US had overcome the crippling recession caused by the subprime crisis. The first Trump administration had slowly tanked all of the efforts done by Obama for the US economy, destablising it and causing a slow, creeping new chrisis. In four years Biden had slowly and methodically returned the US economy to a state of stability and good cooperation with the neighboring countries which also form NAFTA, as well as with the EU non-EU countries. But the Democrats lost the elections, and in a very short times Trump has redone all it took him 4 years to do in his previous stint as US president, causing commercial and political turmoil with the major economic allies of the US as well as economic instability inside the US.

FROM THE INTERNET

I am not often shocked by news. It is my business. But this week, when Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika, said movingly that we should try to love and forgive our enemies, Donald Trump contradicted her. “I hate my opponents,” he said. From a president who should be healing his people, this shocked me. I was shocked again when he later declared his hatred of paracetamol. It causes autism and no pregnant women should take it, he claimed, though doctors disagree with him.
We understand far too little about how we react to news. Usually, I can see or hear it and then return to my cave. But Trump upset me. When a man of power is an apostle of hate and a purveyor of lies, I am unsettled. Then, on Tuesday, Trump turned a supposed 10-minute speech to the United Nations into a 50-minute ramble, ending with the claim that London was about “to go to sharia law”.
