t-rump reacts to Redford's passing: 'There was nobody better'
US president Donald Trump has shared a few brief words on Robert Redford, following the actor’s death.
Speaking just before boarding Air Force One to begin his state visit to the UK, Trump said:
"Wow, that's a good way to go, I guess. But I'll tell you, Robert Redford was great. He had a series of years where there was nobody better.“
Trump went on to say that Redford made “seven or eight great movies”. He added: There was a period of time when he was the hottest. I thought he was great."
Redford had previously been critical of Trump, likening the president to a dictator.
Writing in a column for NBC in 2019, Redford said: “Our shared tolerance and respect for the truth, our sacred rule of law, our essential freedom of the press and our precious freedoms of speech – all have been threatened by a single man."

Piers Morgan calls Redford 'of the all-time great movie stars'
“RIP Robert Redford, 89. One of the all-time great movie stars,” the TV personality wrote on X. “A true Hollywood legend who starred in so many of my favourite films: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, The Way We Were, All The President’s Men. What a career, what an actor, what a sad loss.”
JB COMMENTS:
I think it is safe to say that millions of women and gay men all over the world swooned at the beauty of this man - maybe a few decades ago now - as he was a stunner.
I remember seeing him in 'The Way We Were' with Barbra Streisand and the gossip at the time was that this ugly duckling Streisand was kissing and acting ' making love' with the worlds most handsome man, and gossip was wild. Little did we know at the time that they would both go on to produce, direct, act, write and in Streisand case, sing and dance - and become the two most talented people in all of Hollywood - EVER.
Bassey just sings.
Celine just sings.
Kylie acts and sings.
Whitney sang and made a couple of films.
same for Diana Ross.
There are few multi talented people willing to take on the whole project like Redford and Streisand have both done, in their own ways and with their own films, and I assume we will now get a plethora of his films on telly and I shall certainly watch The Way We Were again.
He was a lovely man, not just to look at, but for what he did for upcoming and inspiring new talent in the film industry that he helped along the way.
