In October 2022, nine climate activists from the group Scientist Rebellion glued their hands to the floor of the Porsche pavilion at Volkswagen's Autostadt museum in Wolfsburg, Germany. Staff ignored them, turned off the lights and heating at closing time, and went home for the night.
The Protest and the Reaction
The activists demanded a 100 km/h (62 mph) speed limit on German motorways and lower carbon emissions. Instead of engaging with them or calling the police immediately, employees carried on working, locked up at the end of the day, and left the demonstrators in the dark and cold.
What Happened Next
Protesters complained online that they were left without food, heating, or a bucket to use as a toilet.
The museum stated that emergency exits remained unlocked, meaning the activists could free themselves and leave to use public restrooms at any time.
After spending up to two nights on the floor, one activist left after 24 hours due to medical issues with a swollen hand, and police eventually removed the remaining participants.
I find this absolutely hillarius. So - You glue yourself to the floor and expect others to offer you food and drink and a bucket to shit and piss in and you then complain when you are ignored and left there - where you chose with free will - to glue your hands either to the floor or to the car and- what the hell do you expect ? Of course everyone will ignore you and leave you there to suffer - IT WAS SELF INFLICTED SO WHY SHOULD ANYONE ELSE GIVE A DAMN ?
