They have different functions depending on the area of the body.
On the head, they protect against solar radiation and the cold.
On the eyebrows, they prevent sweat from getting down and reaching the eyes.
In the ears, hair and earwax function as a protection to contain dirt particles, small insects and bacteria.
In the nostrils, hair functions as a natural filter that prevents dust particles from entering the airways, which is why the famous 'snot' forms on the outside of the nose.
In the armpits, hairs protect the skin from friction between the arms and the body.
Eyelashes protect the eyes.
In the intimate region, in women, they function as an initial protection of the vaginal canal against the entry of substances that can cause infection or disease. For men, they have no function nowadays, but in the past, they could have served to protect against the cold.
As for the other hairs we have on our arms, legs, back, etc., many scientists believe that they are just legacies from our ancestors who were much hairier.
Personally, a hairy man does it for me every time...

I have this belief that men who like smooth guys sexually, are secretly looking for men who are feminine and / or passive sexually- where as men who like sex with hairy men are looking for man on man real sex that only a masculine man can offer. I may not be passive and one would think all hairy masculine men are TOPS, it always delights when ' up go the legs ' and fucking a hairy hole is so much nicer than a smooth one. John: I was hairy from about the age of 12. I started to go bald from the age of 14, while still at school.
By the time I was in senior school I had a full hairy chest, legs, arms and even my butt and back was hairy. I was the only kid in my year who shaved and during the summer holidays one year, grew a full black beard which many grown men envied, but the school said I had to shave it off and my parents complained , and I was allowed to keep it. I looked older than some of the teachers. The other kids would gather round after swimming or gym, when we all took communual showers ( those were the days ) and they either took the piss or looked at me with the green eyed monster of envy. I felt like a grown up long before I was an actual grown up. People treated me dfferently than other kids, assuming I was much older, and it has served me very well and being hairy has been a real bonus in many ways. My wife hated it - and when I came out as gay, I found a whole arena of hot men who just worshipped my hairy body. I have absolutely no regreats or wish to be smooth at all. Neil F. ( Belfast )

John. I recently met a friend I had enjoyed sex wth decades ago and he was covered in hair and as for his back - it was covered and I loved it. Met recently and his back was smooth after years of electrolysis hair removal as he hated it being hairy, while I thought it his best feature. Such a waste. Martin
John: My first job of the day is hoovering my bed of all the hair that comes off me in the night.
After I shower, my next job is to wash all the hair down the drain and off the tiles etc.
Then I dress and make sure there is no stray hair on my clothing ( I am a policeman )
and as I have a beard, it takes just as much work as if I shaved, keeping it trim and tidy
and not look like a jungle on my face.
I love it, I absolutely love being so hairy, but it is a lot of work.
